I’m a gardener & even if you’re poor it’s no excuse for a rubbish house – trolls don’t agree but you should work harder

A GARDENER was slammed for posting a video claiming that poor people just need to work harder to have nice stuff.

Tom Butler, uploaded a video of himself sprucing up someone’s garden along with a sound clip of a man giving a speech about hard work.

In the short video he can be seen completely transforming someone’s garden.

In the background the sounds clip said: “Your problem is not that you’re poor, it’s just you suck at being poor.

“If you want nice s*** you’re just going to have to take some old s*** and make it nice s***.

“Being completely useless is a luxury of the rich, and you’re not rich, you’re poor.

“If you want to be poor and just have old garbage then fine, you’re good to go.

“But if you’re going to sit around and cry about how you have nothing nice but then you’re doing nothing to get anything nice – that’s your own fault.

“If you’re able-bodied and broke, that’s nothing but opportunity.

“And if you’re like – I don’t know how to fix stuff. Yeh – no one does!”

But fellow TikTokers weren’t impressed with the straight-talking motivational message.

One person said: “There are people who can’t even afford utilities and food.”

Another said: “Errr… pressure washers cost money.”

A third said: “I get the logic and fully agree to an extent but I think your idea of ‘poor’ would be viewed as very different to other people’s idea of poor.”

Another said: “That isn’t a poor person’s house. A poor person has to choose between bread and milk.”

While another said: “Having time to learn new things is a privilege.”

The gardener address the comments with an update of his own. He said: “This is a sound (not me speaking). This is also not my house. Sorry if this offends anyone, I didn’t think it was that deep.”
