Iconic noughties crime thriller in talks to be revived again as star reveals potential plot
KIEFER Sutherland has teased there is potential for a reboot of much loved TV franchise, 24.
The action-packed series, which originally ran from 2001 to 2010 before being rebooted and given spin-offs, has remained a firm favourite of the crime genre.

While the series may have ended for now, Sutherland has admitted he has been talking to executive producer Howard Gordon about how Jack could make a much-desired return.
Declaring his time on the show “the best of his life”, Sutherland admits he’s hesitant Jack will be able to live up to his reputation now he’s that much older, but the series is “incredibly special” to him.
“Howard and I talk all the time and invariably it comes up,” he later added.
“The idea of him being brought back — I’m just spitballing — I think that’s an interesting idea. You introduce a new cast of people in their effort to get him out, and it lives on from that point.
“There’s a lot of ways to go about it.”
Sutherland added that he thought the concept of a show in real-time was an ingenius one, though he couldn’t understand why more shows haven’t embraced the concept.
24 originally ran for eight seasons, with one special – 24: Redemption – also being added to expand the franchise futher.
In 2014, Sutherland returned one last time for one-off series 24: Live Another Day.
Since then, a separate part of the franchise, 24: Legacy, was given the green light, and was the first and only series in which the actor and character doesn’t appear.
He was replaced by Corey Hawkins, with the excuse being Jack was “imprisoned in Russia”.
