I transformed my boring, beige kitchen using bargains from B&M and B&Q and DIY fans are amazed at how good it looks
PEOyou’re hoping to give your home a modern update, then
But one savvy DIY fan named Betsy Smith has demonstrated how you can update your home on a budget – using bargain buys from B&M and B&Q.
Betsy Smith transformed her very dated kitchen using bargain buys from B&M and B&Q[/caption] The kitchen pictured before and after the transformation[/caption]Besty took to TikTok (@theatkinson_home) and posted a before snap of her very dated kitchen, which featured dark wooden cupboards and was in desperate need of some TLC.
In the clip, she begins: “What we used to transform our kitchen.”
Betsy then proceeds to explain how she replaced the very tired-looking beige countertops with some D-C-Fix marble matt white self-adhesive film that she picked up from B&Q.
She goes on to confirm how it worked “really well,” adding: “We sealed round the sink and cooker top but the worktops were completely smooth.”
Next up, she gave the silver handles a modern update by applying a coat of matt black spray paint which she purchased for just £3.99 from B&M.
To complete the look, she added ‘Boutique Chenille Silver effect Textured Wallpaper’ to the walls, which cost £28 for a roll from B&Q.

Bringing the grey and metallic silver together, the chic wallpaper helps to provide a sophisticated and beautiful design to the kitchen walls.
And it’s fair to say the room looks almost unrecognisable to before, and has been given a completely new lease of life.
It wasn’t long before Betsy’s post racked up over 40k views, with several social media users quick to take to the comments section to commend her very impressive handiwork.
“Wow that is amazing!” enthsued one.
A second asked: “How much did this cost to do roughly? Looks great.”
Betsy replied: “To be honest, I have no idea – sorry! The rolls were £5-£6, you definitely use more than you’d think but still a cheap option.”
A third praised: “Lovely!”
Meanwhile, a fourth added: “Wowow.”
Another was so blown away by the kitchen transformation, she asked Betsy: “Are you a home designer?”
Betsy replied: “It’s my hobby, not a job.”
