ITV News viewers do a double-take as bulletin ‘freezes’ live on air – leaving panicked host scrambling
ITV News viewers were left doing a double-take after a bulletin ‘froze’ live on air – leaving the host scrambling to fill the gap.
Monday’s ITV News at Ten was once again hosted by Tom Bradby, and after introducing the main headlines, he went into a report on the latest update from Russia.
It came after Vladimir Putin addressed his nation following the Wagner mutiny which has threatened to rock his leadership.
After a video played of Putin’s message to the Russian people, it then cut to another clip of NATO General Secretary Jens Stoltenberg discussing Russia and the latest problems at a press conference.
However, the VT suddenly froze mid-sentence for 10 seconds, before Tom, 56, suddenly appeared back on screen.
Viewers immediately took to Twitter to comment, with one writing: “Did #itvnews at ten just freeze for anyone else?”
Another confirmed it wasn’t just their TV set, replying: “Yes, it froze for us too.”
Looking slightly startled but ever the professional, Tom immediately picked up the topic and said: “So, the fall out continues from the strange and convulsive events of what one commentator called ‘Russia’s wild weekend’.
“That’s putting it mildly. A lot remains not just unexplained but unresolved.”
He then turned to a colleague who was in the studio with him to give a more in depth analysis of the situation.
