I was on Four Weddings and won – but the free honeymoon had a catch we hadn’t prepared for
A WOMAN who appeared on Four Weddings has revealed how the free honeymoon came with a big catch.
Four Weddings originally aired on Sky Living from 2009 to 2013, with repeats being broadcast on other channels.
The programme saw brides and grooms brutally rank each other’s big day from the outfits, food and overall experience.
At the end of each episode the four couples reunited at an airport where they would learn who had won.
The winning couple would then board a plane and be whisked off on a romantic honeymoon.
However, one bride has revealed there was a very big catch with the ‘free’ trip.
The contestant has said how producers made them purchase their own flights for the getaway.
Posting on social media site Reddit, the woman said how producers left them under the impression the whole trip would be paid for by the show.
She said: “They do not pay for the plane tickets. My husband was kinda of upset because we were under the impression that it would all be paid for.”
Another catch meant the winning couple couldn’t set their honeymoon up until the episode was broadcast.
It was recently announced that Channel 4‘s planned reboot of Four Weddings has been axed just weeks before filming.
Deadline reported production on the revival was due to begin in just weeks but staff have been told it will not be going ahead.
It’s understood freelancers working on the show have been offered a two-week compensation package.
