I tried the heatless curls hack to get my hair holiday ready on the plane – it was a total flop and shoved into a pony

A YOUNG woman had dubbed the heatless curls travel hack a “scam” after she didn’t have the perfect blow-out style do when her flight land.

Rolling your hair around wand or sock and ready to take out on the plane before you land is a trend that took off last year.

Thousands of women took to TikTok to share how they were landing in a new country with perfectly curled locks.

But one woman is convinced it’s a “scam” after she had to scrape her hair into a ponytail after trying it. 

Tilda Törnqvist rolled her blonde hair around a sock during her long-haul flight and let it sit on her head until it was almost time to land. 

But when it came time to unroll the curls, the result was not what she was expecting. 

Rather than having a bouncy blow-out look, she had a dramatic parting and a few loose curls. 

“Heatless curls = scam,” she penned over the video. 

Other women jumped into the comments to laugh at how “relatable” the beauty blunder was. 

Some had theories on why the hack didn’t work for her hair. 

“I think it also has a lot to do with the health of your hair,” one woman penned.

“As a fellow heat damage queen… that’s the real issue,” another said.

People who the hack has worked for recommended spraying the hair with water to make it damp before rolling.

Others claimed she made the mistake of tying the hair in a ponytail before curling it round the sock, owing to the unfavourable parting. 

Tilda’s video has totted up almost one million views on the social media app.

“So there’s no english comments when I found the most relatable video ever,” one Brit joked. 

“This is exactly what happens to me,” another quipped.

“It’s painful how much I relate.”
