‘Botox in a bottle is nonsense’ skin pro says but shares actual ingredient you need to banish wrinkles without needles
A DERMATOLOGIST has revealed the one ingredient that will actually stop wrinkles without Botox.
Shereene Idris, from the US, revealed the term ‘Botox in a bottle’ was usually nonsense on social media.
The beauty pro said: “Botox in a bottle is marketing that kinda kills my soul.
“But at the same time, I understand why they’re doing it.”
The 39-year-old dermatologist said nothing that you buy over the counter isn’t going to replace Botox you get at your doctor’s office.
However, for those who don’t have the budget for Botox or are scared of needles there is an alternative.
“There is an option for you guys with an over the counter ingredient called argireline,” she added.
“It is a peptide that helps to soften and calm down the way your muscles contract.”
This can help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and stop them from getting deeper.
But Shereene reveals it won’t give you the exact results of Botox – especially when used alone.
The dermatologist added that argireline was great for instant results but it can be paired with a retinol for long-term anti-ageing effects.
Retinol can help boost collagen to create a more firm appearance of the skin.
Fortunately, you can buy The Ordinary’s argireline serum for as little as £7.22 from Sephora.
The clip posted to her TikTok account @shereeneidriss has since gone viral with over 91k views and over 3,000 likes.
Beauty fans were quick to share their thoughts and how to use the product in the comments section of the post.
One person wrote: “I would love to know what Argireline products you suggest.”
Another commented: “More info on how to incorporate it into a routine please!”
“Thank you,” penned a third.
Meanwhile a fourth said: “Great info, thank you.”
