LABOUR MP Rosie Duffield has been cleared by the party on anti-Semitism and transphobia claims.

The women’s rights campaigner yesterday said that she was found to have “no case to answer”.

Last year Labour launched a probe after the Canterbury MP liked a tweet by Father Ted creator Graham Linehan, who had hit back at Eddie Izzard’s claims that he would have been “murdered by the Nazis” as a trans woman.

Linehan replied: “Ah yes, the Nazis, famously bigoted against straight white men with blonde hair.”

Ms Duffield had “strenuously denied” accusations of anti-Semitism and transphobia.

Last night she said: “Immediately before Christmas, I was informed that the existing allegations, which had been confirmed by the party to The Sunday Times, had been dismissed by the NEC: there was no case to answer, and nothing I had done had breached any Labour party rule.

“I was completely exonerated.

“That being the case, I anticipate that I will be formerly confirmed as the Labour candidate for Canterbury shortly.”
