I’m a personal trainer & know why clients always end up sleeping with us – it’s simple really
A PERSONAL trainer has opened up about the reason so many clients end up sleeping with their fitness coaches.
Chris Bradley, founder of The Upgraded Coach, spoke to Dragon’s Den star Aaron Branch about the bond formed between a trainer and their client.
And in the interview on Aaron’s The First 365 Podcast, Chris explained how – through his work helping trainers learn to love their job and find financial freedom – he’s trying to stop that stereotype in its tracks.
“I’ve heard many stories about personal trainers with clients having sex, going into the car park…” Aaron said.
“Does all of that happen?”
“Yeah, mate,” Chris replied.
“You build strong rapport with people for a lot of the time.
“And this is where I’m trying to teach the coaches to not be this person, the car park person, because when clients come to you, they’re typically in a very, very low place.
“They’re vulnerable, they are overweight, they’re uncomfortable.
“They have maybe just sent you photos as they’re starting, pictures of them in their underwear, to track fat loss.
“It’s a very big thing.
“And then they trust a personal trainer.”
Things often get even more complicated when the personal trainer starts to get their client results.
“They start to look at the personal trainer as the person that’s changed their life,” Chris added.
“You’ve got to remember that if someone stays with you for 6 months, twice a week, think of all that time together – that’s more time than sometimes people’s partners.
“Why people cheat with their personal trainers?” Aaron captioned a video of the interview on TikTok.
People were quick to comment on the video, with one writing: “That’s why I would not date a PT”.
“So common,” another said.
“Every PT does it once at least,” a third insisted.
“Gotta admit I did with my last PT.”
“Trueeeeee just like work,” someone else added.
“Ppl spend more time at work than with their partners hence why it’s so easy fr some to cheat.
“Sad world!”
“As a trainer myself this is a big no for me. The gym is sacred,” another wrote.
As someone else said: “Extremely unprofessional.
“But the truth will always come out in the end especially being in a profession like this.”
