Lift – Available from Friday
Heist movies and series are all the rage these days, but safe to say you won’t have seen one quite like Lift before. This slick, stylish and heart-stopping action flick follows a crack team of crooks, led by the charismatic Cyrus Whitaker (Kevin Hart), who have been persuaded by the US government to pull off one job.
But this isn’t any old job because Cyrus and his crew have been tasked with stealing $500million in gold, which is on its way to a terrorist cell. And they’ll need to nab it from a passenger plane in mid-flight, 40,000ft in the air.
No pressure. Stacked with staggering action sequences, a wise-crack-crammed script and a strong cast that also includes Sam Worthington and Jean Reno, it’s a genuine thrill ride.

Echo – Available from Wednesday
Cast your mind back to Hawkeye, the excellent 2021 Marvel series, and you’re sure to remember Echo, the butt-kicking deaf leader of the Tracksuit Mafia, who gave Hawkeye and Kate Bishop so much trouble throughout. Well, now Echo – aka Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox) – has her own five-episode spin-off series.
Picking up from where we left her at the end of Hawkeye, when she shot her adoptive uncle – crime lord Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) – Maya leaves New York for her hometown in Oklahoma, where she hopes to reconnect with her Native American roots and come to terms with her past.
But with Fisk still alive and on her trail, and Daredevil (Charlie Cox) set to make an appearance in the series, Echo is unlikely to find the peace she craves.
