I’m a paralegal with 7 inch nails – trolls say I have ‘horrible hygiene,’ I don’t but I have wounded myself showering
COURTROOMS are normally associated with dull dark suits, but a mom-of-three with multicolored seven inch long nails says she’d never let them stop her getting a job.
Paralegal Katrina Marie, 41, may have a slew of online haters when it comes to her bold nail art and style, but she doesn’t care because many people love it, including Beyonce’s mom.
Houston resident Katrina (@trinamarieasmrnails) brings in five figures monthly on TikTok, from showing off her jewel-covered nail extensions.
When the single mom of three boys isn’t in front of the camera, she is loud and proud in pink suits while working as a high-profile paralegal.
And she doesn’t worry they’ll stop her getting jobs in future.
“If I came across an opportunity where they were like ‘We don’t want your nails’, that’s probably an opportunity that I would not need,” she told The U.S. Sun.
“Because my nails are a part of me.”
It took Katrina four years to get them to their current length, which she now showcases with ASMR, role play, and eating videos.
Even though she primarily works from home, she still has to regularly show up to court for her cases, which she does in style.
“Usually I wear a pink suit or something and I have no issues. They don’t not invite me because of my nails,” she said.
Her eye-catching nails are a huge hit and a conversation starter.
“Months ago I was sitting two tables over from Mrs. [Tina] Knowles, Beyonce’s mom, the mayor, the governor and so many different other influential people,” she explained.
That whole evening, people couldn’t stop coming over to stare and compliment her nails.
She even had an attorney she worked with come on a live video and gush about her work ethic.
Several viewers remarked that her nails were “out there” as a professional.
“He was just like, ‘I don’t care about that. I’m here about her work’,” she said.
But Katrina hasn’t so seamlessly impressed in every job.
“The last job I had where I worked in an office, my nails were about three and a half inches,” she said.
“I honestly don’t think they liked me at all.
“I don’t know if my nails were an issue or not, but they weren’t as long as they are now.”
The worst comments she has received are from trolls who say that she has “horrible hygiene.”
“I used to be a hairstylist and makeup artist, so that was a big thing that we are taught – your hygiene must be on point because you’re right on top of these people,” she said.
Although she wasn’t allowed to embrace the long nail life at the time, she still makes cleanliness a priority today.
Katrina has always been fascinated by women with long nails, especially her mother’s natural talons.
“She would just take care of them and grow. I think they were probably like four inches, but I was a tomboy big-time,” she said.
Now, as a woman who spends over 15 hours just doing her nails every two to three weeks, she added that it “wouldn’t make sense” for her to fall short in that area.
She doesn’t face many challenges and said it’s not a big deal to go to the bathroom.
But did add that she has a certain method to get the deed done, without disclosing all the details.
“Driving is super easy as well. I think probably the only thing I can say is trying to pick change up,” she explained.
Even when her children were young, she didn’t have issues and that was partially because she kept them half the length they are now.
But she did once ended up in the hospital because of her stiletto nails.
“I did poke myself one time in the shower and it was a horrible experience. It took me like a week and a half to heal,” she revealed.
That is exactly the reason why her loyal following of almost 630,000 TikTok followers only view her rocking square-shaped nails.
Katrina takes special care of them with apple cider vinegar and methylene treatments, in between redoing her nails.
There is also a cheap buy that she said is “so good” for growing your talons.
“Just rest Vaseline on your nails, go on about your day, and it protects your nails,” she explained.
There have been times when her nails were damaged by special projects, like a summer photo shoot where she had to keep her Barbie-themed nails for over a month.
“I had to prolong those nails, and I just kept like gluing them back. I’m still repairing them from nail bed damage, but they’re almost okay now,” she admitted.

Katrina didn’t get into content creation overnight and instead helped others monetize their online presence for years.
She represented celebrity influencers and artists as a manager.
“One day, I drove up to one of their glass houses with the Ferrari and the Lamborghini in the garage.
“I kind of paused and I was like ‘Why am I representing them to help them and their brands?'” she said.
In addition, there was a traumatic experience with a former client that made her realize that she no longer wanted to “represent selfish people.”
“It made me quit. They didn’t even care and that was the biggest thing for me after that,” she divulged.
Their dog ended up biting her special two-pound teacup Yorkie “baby” in the head, which ultimately led to her putting her pet to sleep.
“I decided I was going to go forward really hard on being a perfect creator and doing my own thing for Katrina Marie,” she said.
Katrina acts out several “characters” with her hands, like her popular McDonald’s Drive-Thru Girl.
To diversify her content from other creators on the platform, she realized she couldn’t just show her nails every day.
She started doing roleplay, ASMR, and mukbang-style eating videos, where she eats various quantities of food while interacting with her audience.
“In my first roleplay live, I spent $4,000 on my setup. I was so nervous. I was like, ‘God if this is for me, let me know please because I don’t wanna waste any time’,” she revealed.
“I just remember hitting that go live button and sitting down slowly and praying.”
She ended up having 222,000 viewers that night.
“I got off and I was like, ‘God, this is it’ and I just haven’t stopped ever since,” she said.
Her first viral video was a May 2023 Dr. Pepper video, where she opened a can with her nails.
It now has over seven million views and caught the attention of the drink company’s official TikTok account.
She also regularly includes her sons, like a ramen-eating video with her youngest, where they show off their personalities.
Katrina also can’t boast enough about the financial benefits of being a digital creator.
“It’s such a good thing for people to do and there’s so many ways to monetize. I tell everybody in my family, even my dad,” she said.
To make additional income, she also teaches Zoom classes about how to monetize the social media platform, including trends, proper timing, and understanding the algorithm.
At the end of the day, she said one of her main goals is to retire her father, who has worked hard to provide for their family her whole life.
