In her video, Emily (@dr_ems_) talked her followers through her daily beauty routine.
“This is the hyperpigmentation I was struggling with as well as looking old and tired,” she explained.
The TikToker revealed that she was going to “spill the tea on maintaining flawless skin after 40 and 50.”
For her first step, Emily recommended a $27 Vitamin C and Ferulic Acid Serum from Timeless.
“One of the key things you’re going to want is a good Vitamin C,” she advised her audience.
“It has to be able to absorb into your skin,” Emily explained.
“It really helped to brighten my skin tone, this is something you’d use in the morning before your other skincare and then you can apply your serums or moisturizers over the top,” she said.
Next, she suggested incorporating an eye cream to tackle darkened under-eyes.
“As we get older it’s often one of the first places that shows our age and I know everybody wants those lovely smooth under eyes that we had when we were 20,” Emily said.
She advised her followers to opt for eye creams that contain retinoids and apply them every night.
Emily also shared the advantages of choosing under-eye creams that contain Vitamin C.
“These aren’t just going to help with dark circles, they’re also going to help with fine lines and wrinkles and smooth out that under eye area,” she explained.,
“Over time it’s also going to help with makeup application as well, making that under-eye area a bit smoother, a bit plumper, and making your makeup sit nicely on top,” Emily said.
Finally, the skincare fanatic shared her “gold standard” for anti-aging.

“Tretinoin cream is basically a stronger form of Vitamin A or a stronger retinoid that is prescription strength,” she explained.
“This is the one thing that has really helped to remove a lot of hyperpigmentation,” Emily revealed.
“It does take time, you’re not going to be getting results in two weeks, you’re looking at two to four months to actually see noticeable a difference,” she said.
TikTok users took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the tips.
“Thank you for this. Love all your skincare tips,” wrote one impressed viewer.
“You’re very knowledgeable about skin,” commented another follower.
