Joel Dommett reveals HUGE Masked Singer clue ahead of weekend’s show

0

THE MASKED Singer panellists are pals with so many fellow celebrities, it’s almost a given they will have a connection with one of the show’s costumed crooners.

But this weekend’s reveal is so close to home, host Joel Dommett is convinced viewers will accuse ITV of a fix.

The gang are dressed up for a school disco theme and they’re joined by “headmistress” Jennifer Saunders as guest judge.

Joel told me: “Jennifer was so good on the show and really embodied the headmistress, she really got into it.

“The reveal on that episode was such an incredible moment because it was someone very connected to Jennifer.

“I feel like people are going to watch it and be like, ‘Oh my God, that’s so set up’ — but it was not.

“There was no way of us being able to set that up!”

It’s not the first time a singer has randomly had a sensational link to one of the panel.

Holly Willoughby was helping out on The Masked Dancer when cousin in law Tamzin Outhwaite was unveiled. But this reveal sounds like an even more amazing moment.

Davina McCall agreed: “When the mask came off, I was like, ‘Oh, it’s that person, great!’ Then I suddenly put two and two together that Jennifer Saunders and that person were incredibly connected.

“It was a fantastic moment to see them face to face like that. It was an absolute shock — of all the people that night for us to choose to unmask, none of us had any idea there was a link.

“This character loved it and having Jennifer there in the moment was the icing on the cake.”

Davina added: “Just seeing those two people in the same room at that same time, it felt almost emotional in a weird way, for me.”

Ahead of the weekend, I can exclusively reveal some new clues for the nine remaining characters.

With Dionne Warwick, Shirley Ballas and Alexander Armstrong revealed so far, who from Jennifer’s life will be exposed on Saturday?

The Masked Singer returns at 7pm on ITV1.

STARS TO ’FESS UP FOR MEL

MEL GIEDROYC’s panel show Unforgivable has become the place to be for big telly stars.

The former Bake Off hostess has bagged an impressive line-up of celebrities for the fourth series of her show, which sees stars confess to bad things they have done.

The series, returning to Dave this spring, welcomes radio and TV presenter Rylan Clark alongside Gogglebox’s Lucy Beaumont , and Strictly Come Dancing judge Shirley Ballas with telly hardman Ross Kemp.

The Masked Singer’s Joel Dommett and comedian Omid Djalili will also appear together on the programme, while The One Show’s Alex Jones is joined by the voice of Love Island, Iain Stirling.

Other names taking part include stand-up star Nish Kumar and actor Rafe Spall.

HOST BILL HAS SETS APPEAL

BILL BAILEY is set to host the Beeb’s Bring The Drama – the hunt for the next big actor in telly.

He joins EastEnders’ Natalie Cassidy and casting director Kelly Valentine Hendry, who has worked on Netflix’s Bridgerton and ITV’s Broadchurch, as they mentor eight aspiring actors.

In the six-part BBC Two series, the wannabes will be welcomed on to real-life sets from celebrated dramas including the Queen Vic pub in EastEnders, Silent Witness and Peaky Blinders.

The contestants will learn the ropes from professional actors including Natalie, who played Sonya Jackson on the BBC soap, and Downton Abbey’s Ed Speelers.

At the end of the process, Kelly picks her top three actors to present their showreel at a major industry showcase and the winner will walk away with an agent.

Bring The Drama is coming soon to BBC Two and iPlayer.

STACEY SOLOMON is returning for a fourth series of BBC One’s Sort Your Life Out.

She will again be joined by organiser Dilly, carpenter Rob and cleaner Iwan to help families declutter.

Stacey said: “We meet six families with a different story, whether it’s family loss or the cost-of-living crisis.”

HARVEY SHOWS TATTOO

HERE is Harvey Keitel in a first look at the Sky’s The Tattooist Of Auschwitz.

The highly anticipated drama – which tells the love story of two Jewish prisoners, Lali and Gita, at Auschwitz- Birkenau concentration camp during the Holocaust – will finally be screened on Sky Atlantic and NOW from May 2.

Holly-wood legend Harvey, who plays Lali, is joined by Polish actress Anna Prochniak as Gita, The Little Mermaid’s Jonah Haur-King as Lali’s younger self, and Yellowjackets actress Melanie Lynskey.

The series, based on the Heather Morris novel of the same name, will also feature a score from Hans Zimmer, the composer behind hit movies Interstellar and Inception.

A NEW reality series will look at the lives of MMA fighters Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett and Molly ‘Meatball’ McCann.

The BBC Three series, Show No Mersey, follows the Liverpudlian pals as they juggle UFC careers with their families. Paddy jokes: “It’s not all sunshine and rainbows.”
