Beauty lover shares 1p hack that stops your eyes from watering as the temperatures plummet – people say ‘it works 100%’
DO you find your eyes constantly watering? A savvy woman has come to rescue with an easy 1p hack that stops it in seconds.
As the weather gets colder and Brits are facing Baltic -14C temperatures, many people struggle with watery eyes – this is because the chilly air causes your eyes to be dry and your tear glands are activated to produce extra lubrication.

However, not only can this be rather annoying, but it can also lead to redness in your eyes, not to mention smudgy make-up and a runny mascara.
Luckily, one beauty lover has shared how to tackle the issue without having to buy any fancy products from the high street, as the secret ingredient is already sitting in your bag.
Taking to TikTok, the savvy woman, Ayaat, revealed how she deals with this winter problem thanks to… Vaseline.
Yes, according to Aayat, who posts under the username @ayaatmishaal, this skincare essential works wonders during the chillier months.
The make-up lover, who had come across the 1p hack on social media earlier, claimed you only needed ”a little bit”, so a small tub will last you a long time.
”Putting Vaseline in the corners of my eyes before leaving the house to stop my eyes from watering is the best thing TikTok has ever taught me.”
The steps are simple and straightforward, she demonstrated in the clip – as you only take a teeny bit of the product with a Q-tip and apply it where needed.
The stunner, whose profile has won her close to a whopping 121k followers, went in and carefully put the jelly on both her inner and outer corners.
”You can’t feel it as long as u don’t put too much!
”Just make sure you only put a little bit,” she added.
Thousands of fellow beauty fanatics raced to comments – and whilst many tagged their friends and family, not everyone was entirely sold on the idea.
One was rather sceptical, wondering: ”Doesn’t Vaseline around the eyes cause milia?”
”I feel like it would make them water more,” another chimed in.
Someone else agreed, adding: ”No cause if it gets in your eyes it burns so bad.”
However, there were also plenty of those who thanked Aayat for the hack – with some ever raving about it, too.
”It works ,” a make-up lover advised others to best not sleep on the trick.
”Well, thank you for telling me this,” a TikTok user was excited to see if the 1p winter hack worked.
There’s more to this budget-friendly drugstore staple than just using it for a juicy pout or around your eyes – according to one skin expert, doctor Natalia Spierings, Vaseline is the best moisturiser in the market.
In fact, the pro even went as far as claiming it’s more effective than posh anti-ageing creams that are a waste of money, in her eyes.
The skincare expert’s Skintelligent: What you really need to know to get great skin helps debunk the myths and oftentimes complicated jargon used by marketing companies, so you don’t fall for it.
One big myth, revealed the skincare whizz, is that Vaseline will clog your pores – which she reassured isn’t true.
She explained that Vaseline is the best moisturiser for trapping in water to hydrate your skin – and this works on all skin types, whether you’re more oily or dry.
“The best places to use Vaseline is on your hands and nails,” she noted.
“Its great to use on your feet with cotton socks to lock it in.”
