Who is Liam Browne?
Liam Browne is a yoga teacher and healer from Manchester.
He has written books and regularly hosts retreats, festivals and podcasts.
Browne revealed in a 2020 interview with the Manchester Evening News that he was once a drug dealer.
But after his mother tragically died from cancer he began travelling around the world and discovered his purpose in life.
He said: “I was in counselling in Manchester and my drugs worker suggested I tried yoga.
“For some reason, I was really hesitant to do it. I started going to Buddhist meditation but I decided I wasn’t doing yoga until I went to India.
“When I went to India and had my first yoga class, I was hooked on it right away.”
Browne is the author of the 2019 book Dealer to Healer and the founder of Full Power Cacao.
He has been hosting cacao ceremonies since 2012, and claims the events can cause “deep healing and retrospection” by “stilling the mind and opening the heart, allowing the true you to shine forth.”
What is Full Power Cacao?
Full Power Cacao is Browne’s brand of cacao powder.
Cacao powder is made from raw cacao beans and nibs that are fermented, roasted, and milled into a powder.
It often gets confused with cocoa powder, but is the raw, unprocessed version.
Cacao has a slightly bitter taste, but can still be used in recipes for hot drinks and baking, similar to cocoa powder.
According to Full Power Cacao’s official website, Browne got the idea to found the company after making a trip to Guatemala in 2012.
While travelling he met the “Chocolate Shaman”, who he worked closely with to “discover the ancient hidden healing secrets of Lady Cacao.”
Browne was then inspired to “share that magic with everyone he met.”
The business owner has “personally sourced” the plant for the powder from Venezuela, bringing “love and harmony to your heart and enrich your daily life.”
Browne has spoken about the benefits of cacao in the past, saying that it “gets rid of the head chatter.”
He explained: “It’s a ceremonial dose of cacao and it puts you in a lovely subtle clarity.
“Your head chat disappears and it allows you to tune into your heart.”
He added: “It just gives you a little bit of euphoria and focus but I promise, it’s totally legal.”
Other reported health benefits of cacao powder include reduced inflammation, better blood flow, lower blood pressure and improved cholesterol.
As of January 2024, a 100g bag of Full Power Cacao costs £8, a 200g bag costs £15, and 1kg bag costs £50.
When will Liam Browne appear on Dragons Den?
Liam Browne is scheduled to appear on the January 18 episode of Dragons’ Den.
The show returned for its 21st series on January 4, 2024, with Sara Davies, Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden, Touker Suleyman and Steven Bartlett on the panel.
The series also has CEO and co-founder of Good American Emma Grede and former football player Gary Neville joining as special guests.
Neville will appear on the same episode as Browne and the instalment will also see Cosy Cinema owners and Billy Childs, who is the director of BC Boots, putting forward their business proposals.
Ahead of the episode, The Sun reported that pundit Neville had shown a special interest in the Cosy Cinema firm.
He was said to be considering investing in the business, which supplies luxury pods for film screenings and overnight stays customers.
