‘I was on Love Island with Molly and Callum – they need to get back together,’ says best pal and show legend Nas Majeed
THERE may still be hope for a reconciliation between Molly Smith and Callum Jones, says good pal and show legend Nas Majeed.
Nas, who appeared on series six of the ITV2 show in 2020 alongside Molly and Callum, said he is rooting for the former flames to rekindle their romance and believes they can use this opportunity to “figure out their differences”.
The pair, who split six months ago after a three year relationship, returned as bombshells on Monday night’s All Stars launch show.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Nas said: “I watched the first couple of episodes, it’s really entertaining but for someone that knows these Islanders quite personally, it’s quite a tough watch seeing Molly and Callum back in there.
“I was with them. I’m really close with both of them, we had a similar journey – Molly and Callum coupled up in Casa Amor and so did myself and Eva [Zapico].
“It’s great to see them back on TV but I just want them to figure out their differences.”
When asked if he thinks there is a chance for them to get back together, Nas said: “I hope there is, I do love them two as individuals, but I guess we’ll see.
“I don’t know they split, I think Callum mentioned they had their differences but hopefully they can resolve it.
“I’m team Colly, Mallum.”
Nas, 27, also admitted that it would be hard to live with an ex while trying to move on and date other people in the same surrounding.
It comes after Weston-super-Mare lad Jake Cornish quit the show after just three days after reuniting with ex Liberty Poole.
Nas said: “Similar to Callum and Molly it’s really difficult to be around your ex.
“You sign up to Love Island All Stars in the hope that you’d find someone and crack on but the first person he sees is his ex, same as Callum as well.
“So I know it can be an uphill battle from there, so not surprised that Jake left.”
Nas found love on the show with Casa Amor bombshell Eva Zapico and are looking forward to the future after moving in together.
But some fans will remember that Nas once enjoyed a brief romance with All Stars’ Demi Jones while they were in the villa.
Speaking about his ex, Nas said: “Hopefully Demi will find love this time, that’s what everyone is in there for. It’s All Stars, they’ve got some iconic people in there.
“It’s two days in, I think because I know a lot of these Islanders quite personally – Toby and Mitch for example.
“I’ve played football with these guys, I’ve met them at social events, it’s quite nice to see them on TV. I feel like I really can connect with them. So far so good, it’s really interesting.”
Nas also gave his verdict on who he’d like to make an epic bombshell return.
He confessed: “There’s too many Islanders, but let’s go with Ovie [Soko], I think he’d have the pick of the bunch to be honest.”
The former sports science graduate said he is now waiting eagely to find out which bombshells will enter to stir things up.
“I didn’t watch Mitch on his series – but I’m quite excited to see all the bombshells come in, I think that’s what I’m most excited about,” he said at the Cirque du Soleil Alegría: In a New Light European Premiere on Wednesday night.
“We obviously had the original 12, but I want to see who else has signed up.”
He has also backed good pal Toby Aromolaran and Georgia Steel’s connection after fans branded them “game-players”.
“I just take everything on face value. I’ve met them and I see why they would be quite compatible,” he added.
“Toby is a cool guy and Georgia’s really sweet as well. They could work out, I’m very much the optimist.”
