A BEAUTY guru has divided opinions after advocating to revive a makeup trend that was popular in the mid-’00s.
She argued the makeup retro look needs to be brought back for 2024 as she demonstrated her method.
Mireya Rios (@mireyarios) boasts over 5 million followers on TikTok, where she shares beauty tips.
She shared how she achieves her favorite nude lip look as she responded to a commenter, who hates the Y2K trend.
“NAHHH jail,” the comment read.
“People wanna send me to jail for doing concealer lips,” Mireya said defiantly.
She began to cover her lips in Hourglass Cosmetics Vanish Airbrush concealer, which costs $18 from Neiman Marcus.
She then used a Bobbi Brown makeup brush that’s available from the brand’s website for $42 to mattify her lips.
Having then lined her lips with a brown lip pencil, Mireya applied a lip tint from Rhode Skin for $16.
“Are you seriously gonna tell me that these lips, wait for it,” she said applying the products.
“Don’t look amazing?
“They’re an actual slay. Let’s bring back concealer lips in 2024.
“It’s like nude heaven.”
The beauty enthusiast was delighted with how her lips looked as she shared hopes viewers would agree.
“Would you try concealer lips?” she captioned the post.
The video went viral with over 76,000 views and 4,000 likes, but not everyone was convinced the trend should return.
“It looks good, I just feel like you could find a gloss/stick that’s the same color(s) you want,” one person wrote.
“PLEASE NOOO WE ALL BEGGG YOU!!! [crying],” another commented.
“It looks ugly. Why would anyone want to do that?” a third said.
“F**k what people think. Wear your makeup how you want,” a fourth chimed in.
“That’s how I used to do them when they were popular [laughing]. They always looked luscious with glitter lip gloss!” another commented.
