I feel ‘proper s**t’ says Great British Bake Off winner Candice Brown after her victory trophy broke in Storm Jocelyn
GREAT British Bake Off winner Candice Brown had a cake-tastrophe when her victory trophy broke in Storm Jocelyn.
She said she felt “proper sh*t” after the glass stand she was awarded for winning the seventh series of the show was smashed.
The freak accident came on a night of strong winds across the country as Jocelyn swept in.
She posted a picture of her broken prize on X/Twitter and wrote: “Anyone know where I can get a new one of these?
“Something fell down the chimney, hit it and it smashed.
“I’m devastated. #breakoff.”
Candice was Bake Off’s last BBC1 winner before it moved to Channel 4.
She was named star baker three times during her run.
Yesterday her followers suggested she should try to win another series — or apply to BBC restoration show The Repair Shop.
Candice, 39, who runs a Bedfordshire pub, said later: “It’s still broken, I’m still gutted.
“The chimney is a p**ck.
“I don’t think I’ll be going back on @britishbakeoff to win another — I’d get my a**e handed to me now.”
She then tried to find experts in kintsugi — the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery.
