I made an elegant Valentine’s Day dinner for $20 from Dollar Tree – there was even ‘bubbly’ & no-bake cherry cheesecake
A ROMANTIC Valentine’s Day dinner doesn’t have to break the bank.
A budget chef has revealed how she prepared a full-course holiday meal for two with just $20 at the Dollar Tree.
Rebecca (@dollartreedinners) shared the recipe in a video with over 1.2 million TikTok followers.
“Here’s how I made an elegant Valentine’s Day dinner with a $20 budget from Dollar Tree,” she said.
She was able to throw together a spinach-filled skillet, no-bake cheesecake, and lasagna.
To prepare the no-bake cheesecake, she mixed up a room-temperature block of cream cheese, added in an 8-ounce jar of vanilla frosting, and a tub of extra creamy Cool Whip.
She combined the ingredients and poured the cream into a prepared graham cracker pie crust.
Next, she topped the cheesecake off with cherry pie filling and refrigerated for three to four hours.
For the skillet, she combined a block of cream cheese, a bag of drained spinach, shredded mozzarella, and a quarter jar of parmesan cheese.
Rebecca prepared packaged biscuit dough with some water and added dollops of the dough to an oiled pan, filling the center of the pan with the spinach mixture.
“Top with mozzarella cheese and bake this at 400 degrees for 18 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown on top,” she said.
For a starter entree, she prepared a simple $5 lasagna with grated mozzarella cheese, cheese ravioli, and pasta sauce.
She layered the ravioli and pasta sauce in a baking dish and topped it all off with parmesan and mozzarella.
Rebecca popped the lasagna in the oven for 30-40 minutes at 400 degrees.
Despite the hard work that already went into the meal, the chef even added a touch that made dinner all the more special.
“No Valentine’s Day is complete with a special beverage so I got some of this Sparkling Blush and Sparkling Pear Cider,” she said, pouring the liquids into champagne glasses.
Staying true to the theme, she explained she picked both non-alcoholic drinks up from Dollar Tree.
People were impressed with her innovative take on Valentine’s Day dining.
“Valentine’s is so cheesy so this is actually the perfect meal for it but tbh, I love cheese so I’m all for it,” said one commenter.
“I’m continuously impressed by your creativity!” said another.
Many, including Rebecca’s own partner, couldn’t help but agree.
“Love the cheesecake recipe. How was the taste/texture?” asked one commenter.
“Very creamy! Held its shape well too. Ultimate test was it got the boyfriend stamp of approval,” Rebecca replied.
