VALENTINE’S Day is just around the corner and if you’re looking for a sweet way to celebrate, this recipe may be for you.
After losing 50 pounds, one woman set out to find a holiday dessert with a low-calorie count.
TikTok user MaKayla showed her followers how to make her simple Valentine’s Day cupcakes[/caption]MaKayla (@makayla_thomas_fit) showed her followers how to make three-ingredient strawberry cupcakes.
“Only three ingredients, 46 calories, and you’ve got the cutest little low-calorie Valentine’s Day treat,” the TikToker said in the caption of the video.
For her first step, she picked up a Super Moist Strawberry Cake Mix from Betty Crocker.
MaKayla emptied the contents into a large mixing bowl along with a single serving of Greek yogurt.
While the food fanatic explained that you can use any flavor for the recipe, she enhanced the flavor with a tub of Strawberry Cheesecake Dannon Light Fit.
For her final ingredient, she added one cup of a vanilla protein shake.
MaKayla recommended substituting a cup of water for any dietary requirements or personal preferences.
She mixed the ingredients until they created a smooth bright pink batter.
Finally, she placed the 36 mini cupcakes into her oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 to 12 minutes.
MaKayla advised her viewers to check the middle of the cupcakes and remove them before the time if already cooked through.
“So cute and only 46 calories each,” she told her followers as she held up one of the unfrosted cupcakes.
She added a finished touch by “decorating with whipped cream, frosting, berries, and granola.”
Her followers shared their thoughts on the recipe in the comments section.
“Yessss! Too cute! Valentine’s Day is my birthday and I think I’ll make this for myself,” wrote one impressed viewer.
“Made these tonight. They help with the sugar cravings,” said another TikTok user.
“I just made these and they’re so good!! Egg-free for my kiddo too!!” commented a third person.
