‘You’ve saved my life,’ people say as professional cleaners reveal $4 hack to get carpet burns out
A CARPET with an iron print scorched in is all too familiar.
But it need not be a permanent and unwanted feature of your home anymore.
A professional cleaner has found an ingenious way of getting these carpet burns out.
His hack uses a handy little tool that users have described as a life saver.
The tip comes from Express Carpet Repairs (@expresscarpetrepairs).
The carpet repair specialists are based in Brisbane, Australia.
Their TikTok is compulsive viewing as they show off their skills repairing carpets that have been stained, torn, and shredded.
In this post, a burnt carpet poses no problem for these superhero rug fixers.
“A bit of a cheeky DIY,” they said as they got down to work.
“How to remove a surface burn from a carpet.”
Their secret weapon was a pumice stone available from Amazon for $4.
Normally used for exfoliating feet, they can be used in a multitude of ways in the home.
First off, they gave the burnt area a thorough rub with the pumice stone.
Then, they used a Stanley knife to go over the same spot.
By the time they had finished, it was impossible to tell where the burn had been.
Commenters were stunned at the results.
The hack came just in time for some viewers.
“Omg, thank you. This just saved my life,” said one person.
Another was going to try it out: “I am now going to steal the pumice stone out of the bathroom.”
And this person could vouch for its effectiveness, “It works.”
