Fat cops from London’s Met Police ordering trousers up to size XXXXXXL, figures show

FAT cops in Britain’s “largest” police force are ordering trousers up to size XXXXXXL.

Officers from London’s Met requested thousands of black patrol pairs with a waist of 40ins or more last year, figures show.

The largest men’s trouser had a 62ins waist — a 6XL — while the widest women’s was a size 44.

Two pairs of 54ins male trousers and four pairs of 52ins were also ordered, according to Freedom of Information data.

Forty-inch waists were the most popular plus size for men and size 20 was ordered most for women in 2023.

A waist above 40ins for men and 34.6ins for women is considered “very high”, according to the British Heart Foundation.

Prospective Met officers must take a Job Related Fitness Test before training, with regular tests afterwards.

But the Sun revealed in December that the Met had failed 337 officers in the past year.

Ex-officer, Lib Dem MP Wendy Chamberlain, said at the time: “People will be understandably worried so many officers are failing.”
