We ditched the housing market because it was too expensive – now we live on a narrowboat in London and save tonnes
A COUPLE who ditched living in regular housing as it was too pricey have revealed they moved onto a boat.
Maisy dewey, who lives in the middle of London on the Thames shared that it was so much better than renting a flat or house.
She said: “We live on a boat in London that is permanently moored.
“And a lot of people wanna know, why do you live on a boat if you can’t take it anywhere?
“So let me show you around and tell you why.”
The first thing to notice in the boat was just how large the space was.
Although she lived on a narrowboat, it was still very spacious with an open spaced living room and kitchen and long hallway leading to the bedroom.

“First of all, you can tell from looking around that we would not be able to afford a regular flat that’s as nice as our boat is,” she added.
Maisy then showed off the kitchen which was fully kitted out with a dishwasher, washing machine, and oven.
Along the hallway, there was a small bathroom and the couple even had a spare room.
She revealed: “We even have an extra room that’s like our office/wardrobe. And the boat is surprisingly spacious.”
As well as the couple living on the boat, they also have an adorable Dalmatian called Kipper who loves how much space there is to roam around.
“We have lived with our dog, Kipper, in three other apartments before we moved aboard our boat, and this is by far the roomiest place we’ve lived,” she explained.
The bedroom on the boat was also massive and had a huge amount of free space behind the bed for storage.
Maisy revealed she also loved waking up and going out on the dock to see the river every morning.
She added: “Our neighbours are so fun and cool.
“We’re still getting used to the boat lifestyle, but so far, we are enjoying all the fun little quirks of living aboard our boat.”
The clip posted on TikTok @maisydewey has since gone viral with over 800k views and 80k likes.
People were quick to share their thoughts in the comments section and many seemed in awe of Maisy’s lifestyle.
