I work at Vinted and my secret picture formula will help you sell items quickly – it’s all about these five key shots
A VINTED employee has shared her five picture rule to sell your items quickly.
It’s no secret that good pictures will lead to more people clicking on your listings, but there’s a formula you can follow for maximum success.
The Vinted employee recommended taking five key pictures and uploading them in a specific order.
The formula is: a front-on picture showing the full item, followed by a picture from the back showing the full item, and then three close up shots.
The three close up shots should show how the item sits on the body, such as the waistband of jeans, and any quirky selling points, such as unique stitching or emblems.
According to the Vinted Help Centre, “having many informative photos and ensuring their quality will help you attract a buyer’s attention and sell more quickly”.
The team also provided seven top tips when uploading pictures onto the app, including making sure the first picture is always a full view of the product.
Their second tip is to show your item’s authenticity.
“When listing an item by a well-known brand, make sure to upload close-up photos of details like the labels and logos,” they explained.
“Adding plenty of these details helps to show the item’s authenticity.
“Also, add your proof of purchase (like a receipt or invoice) whenever possible too.”
Vinted’s AI technology removes any listings with images screenshotted off brand’s websites as bosses at the app want to keep things as real as possible.
“Don’t use stock or watermarked images, and other pictures you find online,” they instructed.
“They’re copyrighted and may not show the current condition of your item.”
The team’s fourth tip was to “capture the true colours” of anything you list.
“Choose pictures taken in natural daylight, over those taken in the lamplight,” they explained. “Also, don’t use flash or filters.”
Their fifth and sixth tips echoed the TikTok video on taking photos of your items from “several angles to make the listing more appealing and complete”.
“Attach close-up photos of important features that aren’t visible in other photos,” they explained.
“This may include the item’s logo, care label, stitching and/or similar details.
“Make sure any text is readable as well.”
Their final tip was to show any defects clearly as “if you don’t mention them, the buyer might want to cancel the order and return the item”.
