Coronation Street fans break down in tears as Liam Connor’s suicide plan is discovered

CORONATION Street fans have broken down in tears as Liam Connor’s suicide torment was finally discovered.

The schoolboy had been searching for ways to end his life after the bullying ordeal at the hands of Mason Radcliffe hit new lows.

In tonight’s episode Liam went to visit his mum at work, taking her a coffee and telling her he loved her, but he was clearly saying goodbye.

Meanwhile at the school, Liam’s laptop had been searched by the school and the headmistress was horrified to realise he was searching for ways to take his own life.

With Maria not answering her phone, Mrs Cranshaw called Gary and showed him, and he rushed to find Maria so they could track down Liam.

Maria and Gary rushed home to find Liam in the flat and she hugged him before telling him they knew what he had been searching for.

“It was just research for school,” Liam tried to insist. “I didn’t mean it, I was just being stupid.”

But Maria got him to open up and he confessed: “I don’t know. I just thought for a moment that you deserve better than me mum. 

“What do I do except cause you grief? People really really hate me and I don’t know what I’ve done to them. 

“So I thought this was a way to end it, not just for me but for you.”

Maria desperately clung to her son and begged him to tell her everything that’s happened sos he can fix it.

He told her: “Mason planted Dylan’s trainers in my locker, I never nicked them, him and his friends dumped bin rubbish all over me, they smashed that marionette puppet, they send me about 50 messages a day. 

“I thought it stopped. Mason’s got this video of me crying. I wasn’t going to do it when it came to it.”

Maria insisted that she would end this ordeal now, and then Mrs Cranshaw arrived and got both barrels from the furious mother.

“They were sending him non-stop vile messages, they got into his head and they drove my son to the point where he wanted to kill himself,” she thundered.

Sending the head out with a flea in her ear, she warned her that she was going to the police.

And then in heartbreaking scenes Maria took action to put her son on a constant watch to ensure he wouldn’t be able to harm himself.

She hid all the knives in the house, before she and Gary agreed to take turns sleeping in his room so he wasn’t alone.

“We need to be honest about what this is, he’s suicidal,” she told Gary. 

“I’m not going to let him out of my sight, not for a second.”

Fans broke down in tears at the emotional scenes with one writing: At #coronationstreet what are you doing to me #bawling What a storyline, such good acting from Charlie Wrenshaw. This bullying storyline is a hard watch.”
