Jermain Defoe whisks girlfriend away on luxury make or break holiday after cheating scandal
HE left his girlfriend heartbroken last year when he was caught cheating on her.
But four months after the scandal first erupted, love rat Jermain Defoe is pulling out all the stops to try and win over his partner Alisha LeMay again – by whisking her away on an exotic holiday.
I can reveal he flew her out to the Dominican Republic for the lavish getaway yesterday to try and reignite their romance after a difficult few months.
Back in October, he was caught kissing wedding planner Paige Mallabourn Edmondson at a £1,200-a-night hotel in Lancashire, days after playing happy families when he walked the red carpet at a fancy event with his influencer girlfriend Alisha.
She was devastated by the move, even though they had got together after Jermain left wife Donna Tierney for her after less than a year of marriage.
A source said: “To say things have been tense lately would be an understatement.
“Jermain knows he has a lot of work to do to make it up for Alisha but he has insisted he is committed to saving their relationship and has said he will do whatever it takes.
“He has been on the straight and narrow for the last few months since things went awry and hopes this trip will bring them closer together and prove his love for her.”
Football coach Jermain, who retired from playing in 2022, clearly has a chequered history when it comes to his love life.
No amount of luxury holidays could win me over after that sort of betrayal of trust.
Dua dual against Beyonce
DUA LIPA is going head to head with Beyonce in a race for No1.
The British-Albanian singer’s tune Training Season came out on Friday and is on course to top the charts this Friday, finally toppling Noah Kahan’s Stick Season after seven weeks at No 1.
However, Beyonce is hot on her heels, as her new country song Texas Hold ’Em, which was at No 9 last Friday, has risen to No 2, according to midweek data from Official Charts.
It is fewer than 3,000 sales behind, so it could all change as the week goes on.
If Dua does make it, it will be her fifth No 1 following last summer’s Barbie track Dance The Night.
TAYLOR SWIFT seemingly made a dig at ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn during her latest show, revealing that she had felt “lonely” spending lockdown with him.
She was with the British actor through the pandemic but doesn’t paint a happy picture.
Speaking on stage in Melbourne at the weekend, she sang the track Betty and said writing it later was a departure from a “lonely millennial woman covered in cat hair, drinking my weight in white wine.”
In April, she releases her new album, about the end of their long romance, so I’m sure we can expect more swipes.

The One Direction singer whisked girlfriend Kate Cassidy on a lavish break to the Arctic Circle in the hope of seeing the northern lights, staying in a log cabin costing £500 a night.
Kate is hoping to make it as an influencer, and has inspired his comeback single Teardrops, out next month.
The song is all about how they battled to make their relationship work.
I previously told in May how the couple split and that Kate had ditched the UK to return home to America – only for them to rekindle things weeks later.
Sounds like the couple are well and truly back on track.
Paloma has flex appeal

Paloma Faith looks like a right jolly roger in this pirate hat.
She wore the quirky headgear and a kinky leather harness to perform at G-A-Y Heaven nightclub in London to celebrate the release of her new album.
Paloma, who also showed off her muscles, put out The Glorification Of Sadness on Friday, but she didn’t look too downcast by the time she made it on to the stage in the early hours of yesterday.
I hope she didn’t have too much of a wild one after she finished her set.
She is due back on the promo trail today and is set to perform for Radio 2’s piano room series from 11.30am.

Piranha Danny’s nibble at Charlie
THE MONKEES v The Beatles, Blur v Oasis, even Ladbaby v Elton John – they were all chart battles I could get behind.
But I never thought I’d need to weigh in on Piranha v Rhino.
On Saturday, McFly’s Danny Jones took the Masked Singer title from pal Charlie Simpson of Busted, who won wearing a horned red costume in 2023.
The two bands have a long-running, matey rivalry in the charts and even toured together as supergroup McBusted.
Now Danny laughs: “I did it because I thought I could win it like Charlie. Watch out Charlie and Rhino, Piranha is coming!”
While Danny has found TV fame on his tod as a coach on The Voice Kids, he previously packed in a short-lived career as a solo artist – although that could still change.
He added: “Without the rest of McFly, it was a lonely, scary place to be, but I feel like that was a cool place to be and to challenge myself personally – feel the fear and do it.
“This has made me a better singer. They’ve got me singing stuff I’ve never dreamed of.”

She wore the quirky mini-skirt and jacket to the Berlin Film Festival yesterday, to promote lesbian crime thriller Love Lies Bleeding, which is out next month.
Speaking about the flick, she said: “The era of queer films, being so pointedly only that, is over.”
I’m impressed she looked so good on the red carpet, given it was a chilly seven degrees in the German capital.
