I work in a nursery and there are four types of parents we cannot stand – don’t get me started on kids wearing pull-ups
A NURSERY worker has shared the four things parents do that they absolutely ”hate” – and it’s bad news if you out your tot in pull-ups.
Most of us have pet peeves when it comes to our job – and those working in childcare, such as TikTok user @childcare_worker4, are no different.
Does your kid wear pull-ups? Then you may want to read this…[/caption]But before you keep reading – there are four types of parents the whizz cannot stand one bit, so are YOU one of them?
In a clip posted on social media, the childcare pro said there were several habits mums and dads have they hated – and if you always arrive to the nursery moments before the doors shut for the day you may want to change it.
Reeling off her first major dislike, the educator said she had an issue with ”parents who pick up their children two minutes before closing time”.
This is because they will then also ask a number of questions about the child and their day, which means the educator will go home a whopping ”15 minutes” later than they should’ve.
However, even if you drop off and pick up your little one on time, there are still several things you may be doing that drive the workers insane – and turns out, there’s one type of nappy they all ”hate”.
According to the staff member, pull-ups and ”nappy pants” are big no-no they’d rather not see you deliver to the nursery – purely because of how much time they require to be taken off and changed.
Another item the workers hope to never see the child arrive with is candy or chocolate, which is particularly common around the Christmas and Easter period when we all like to enjoy sweet treats a bit more often.
Although the childcare educator did not elaborate too much on this, it’s thought the chocolates will cause chaos amongst the child’s peers, who will all want a bite.
Back to to the topic of nappies, the staff member added that they also have parents dropping their kid off with a full nappy, claiming it happened on the way.
”Children coming in with a full nappy and parents saying ‘Can you change my child’s nappy, they must’ve peed in the car on the way here’.”
However, whilst the childcare educator may feel a certain way about these parenting habits, the video was met with a mixed response, as hundreds raced to share their comments.
Some, for instance, disagreed with the list, as one said: ”Then you are at the wrong job.”
Another chimed in: ”Wow…I’m 110% grateful to be a SAHM [stay-at-home mum].”
Someone else added: ”Lmao, at 1700 [£1.3k]/month I will ask my questions 3 mins after closing.”
But there were also a large number of those who shared the same views and even a few fellow educators revealed their top pet peeves.
”OR their child bringing breakfast in & it contains peanut butter & it’s a nut free campus & another child has a SEVERE nut allergy but the parent says ‘Just keep the child away from my child’.”
”Parents in the comments acting like they take care of the same amount of children we do …. I have 16 children and it’s two of us,” someone else hit back at the parents.
A mum added: ”I’m so thankful for my daycare educators.
”They deserve to go home on time & no child should be in their night nappy still.”
”The daycare that I used to work at had a “arrive dry policy” meaning the parents had to bring the child dry, if they leave dry, then they come dry,” a former employee revealed.
