According to DIY beauty guru Liv, you won’t find it in the haircare aisle though.
Better known as @livholistic on Tiktok, the self-confessed ‘semi-crunchy’ influencer regularly goes viral for her eco-friendly tips and tricks.
Armed with her trusty glass containers, the young woman has a hack for virtually everything – including how to get enviably healthy hair.
Her before and after needs to be seen to be believed, with the content creator showing just how stringy hair her used to be just a few years ago.
Not afraid to poke fun at herself, Liv laughed as she saw photos of short blonde locks which looked dry and brittle at the ends.
Even putting it into a different style didn’t help her, with her spindly hairdo being held in place by a tiny elastic.
Liv laughed as she told fans: “This was just a few short years ago…This was my little braid.”
Fast forward a few years and she showed fans her now thick tresses, explaining that she’d improves her hair health significantly by adding an essential oil to her shampoo.
“I started by putting peppermint oil in my hair with every wash,” she explained, with her blonde hair cascading down her shoulders.
Whilst it sounds too good to be true, the essential oil is antimicrobial meaning it can help with itchy, dry scalps and other common health complaints.
According to Healthline, the menthol in peppermint oil is a vasodilator known to also improve blood circulation and help repair hair follicles.
For those that what similarly stunning hair, you simple need to add a few drops of peppermint oil to your shampoo.
In fact, the ideal ratio is 5 drops per 28g of hair product.
Even better, you can pick up peppermint oil at The Range for just £4.99 and it is even blended with rosemary to help nourish your hair even more.
This wasn’t the only advice Liv had for her 295,000 followers, with the influencer saying she’d also used shampoo with aloe vera to help soothe her scalp.
She will also use a product called ‘hair tea’, which is made from cloves, peppermint and rosemary to help maintain her locks.
She revealed: “This helps reduce premature graying and stimulates hair growth too…and it’s very rich in antioxidants.”
Understandably, many of them were impressed with the content creator’s total transformation and many fans were eager to recreate Liv’s look.
“Oh my gosh thank you so much! I’m literally dealing with the same type of hair as your before,” gushed one impressed viewer.
Another added: “Well didn’t take much convincing after I saw your before pic (looks just like mine) hoping it helps me!!!”
“WOW WOW…best hair transformation I’ve ever seen,” wrote a third.
Seems like we might be getting minty fresh after seeing this video.
