I made a Red Lobster-inspired surf ‘n turf dinner for $20 from Dollar Tree – there’s even sides and dessert

A KITCHEN whizz has spilled the details on her Red Lobster-inspired surf ‘n turf dinner.

She purchased all the ingredients for her recipe from Dollar Tree, including sides and dessert.

Rebecca (@dollartreedinners) filmed herself shopping for the ingredients and whipping up dinner in a video on TikTok.

“We’re doing a $20 surf ‘n turf style dinner inspired by Red Lobster,” she said.

She added that the recipe included all the famed fixings offered by the seafood restaurant chain.

“This menu includes Cheddar Bay inspired biscuits, steak, salmon, creamy pasta, roasted asparagus and a warm cookie skillet topped with ice cream,” she added.

She also laid out all the prices of the ingredients, totaling to $20.

“I picked up a frozen ribeye steak for $3, frozen salmon fillets for $5 and everything else was $1.25,” she said.

“Cheddar garlic biscuit mix, cheddar cheese, milk, margarine, creamy garlic pasta shells, asparagus, garlic and herb seasoning, cookie mix and ice cream.

First, she started off by cooking the Cheddar Bay-style biscuits, a favorite of Red Lobster fans.

“Now onto our surf and turf main course. I laid out the asparagus onto a Parchment line baking sheet and I brush them with melted margarine, season them with garlic and herb seasoning,” she said.

“These got tossed into a 400 degree oven just while we prepare the rest of the meal,” she added, cooking the pasta on the back burner.

She also thawed the steak and salmon overnight to cook and serve with the asparagus.

There was no skimping on dessert, making a crowd pleaser from Dollar Tree.

“And lastly, for dessert, we’re making a fresh baked cookie skillet à la mode,” she said.

“Mix the cookie mix per the package instructions and then press it in the bottom of a well greased skillet or cake pan.

“Bake at 350 degrees until evenly brown on top and let it cool slightly before topping it with ice cream,” she added.

She said while the biscuits were “amazing,” she had a few other changes for the rest of the meal.

“I also enjoyed the salmon and the asparagus, but the pasta was a little underwhelming, so next time I’d probably go with Alfredo pasta,” she said.

“The steak was a little chewy. I think you could probably do without the steak and still have a really great meal.

“And the cookie was also a perfect way to end the meal. Although I would have preferred vanilla ice cream instead, but chocolate was all they had,” she added
