I’m 5’8” & 175 lbs – I hadn’t seen curvy girls try Monday Swimwear, the bottoms could’ve sent me to ‘Instagram jail’
THERE’S nothing worse than a bikini that feels like you’re about to flash your fellow beach-goers.
A curvy fashion fan shared her latest swimwear finds ahead of her vacation.
Kylie Nelson (@kylie_nelson1), who wears a size large or XL, modeled two items from her haul in her video.
“For reference, I’m 5-foot-8 and 170 pounds,” the TikToker told her followers.
She explained that she hadn’t seen other women her size try the brand Monday Swimwear and wanted to see if it “gets my curvy girl stamp of approval.”
For her first look, Kylie showed her viewers the $165 Clovelly One-Piece.
Before trying on the black and white color block swimsuit, she held it up against her body.
“I don’t know if this is going to fit,” she told her audience.
Modeling the swimwear, she pointed out an immediate issue with the fit.
“The swimsuit is so cute but the girls are literally about to fall out,” Kylie explained.
“The back is cute but it’s definitely cheeky, I really think that I need to size up because I don’t think it’s long enough.”
She also shared her thoughts on the $96 Clovelly Top in the color Cobalt and the matching $82 Rivieria Bottoms.
Kylie also purchased the $86 Antigua Bottom in the same color but said she wasn’t able to try them on for her audience.
“I can’t even show you what these bottoms look like because I’d actually go to Instagram jail with all the goodies and bits that were hanging out,” she explained.
Kylie described the bikini bottoms as “an absolute no from me but the other ones feel much better.”
Modeling the two-piece, she compared it to a similar bikini from Victoria’s Secret.
“This is more of a crinkle material, it definitely feels more luxurious, it’s double-lined,” she told her followers.
“I do like how the straps are stretchy, it’s more comfortable on the shoulders, and it’s still a little cheeky in the back but I feel comfortable.”
For her final try-on item, Kylie layered a $28 St. Tropez Sarong over the two-piece.
“This is what I was excited to try on, look at the blue, it’s so pretty, honestly, I just feel really good in this,” she said.
