I built my daughter, 12, her own CAR for £700 – pink motor is 100% driveable & she’s always dreamed of being a mechanic
A DAD has forked out £700 to build his 12-year-old daughter her dream motor – and it’s 100% driveable.
Dean Hall, from Brighton, splashed the cash to put together the modified Nissan Micra for daughter Kacie.

“I absolutely love the car. It’s perfect,” she said.
Dean and wife Jae spent around £700 on the car, thanks to a successful fundraising drive.
Kacie said she was determined to get behind the wheel when she saw her dad compete in a banger race, and dreams of becoming a mechanic one day.
Jae and Dean came up with the idea and purchased the car in the beginning of October 2023.
Dean did most of the heavy lifting, including the removal of the windows and sanding the vehicle inside and out before giving it a fresh coat of pink and white paint.
The couple then slapped on a number board spoiler, a fresh name plate above the windscreen and safety hinges for the bonnet.
After a quick bit of airbrushing, the vehicle was ready to hit the track.
Kacie is very excited to take part in her first race in April when the junior season opens, and plans to hone her craft until competition day.
“The surprise was mine and her dad’s idea. We thought it would be the perfect present as she has kept saying that she wanted to do racing,” Jae said.
“We spent about £500-£700 on the car, with the help of friends sponsoring her.
“It was very difficult to keep a secret. When she saw it, she was over the moon and couldn’t stop crying – happy tears of course.
“Her reaction made us feel so proud and happy. We were over the moon that she was so happy.
“It means so much more to us than people think. She’s been through so much in her life.
“She was born deaf and had to have hearing aids for the first nine years of her life, and then in 2020 she had an operation to have Cochlear Implants fitted.
“We have brought Kacie up believing she can do anything she puts her mind to, which is why we have let her have this opportunity to follow her dreams.
“She’s always liked to watch her dad race. He’s been doing banger racing on and off for about 10 years now and has been doing it more regularly for the last two years.
“She also wanted to show that it’s not only for boys and that girls can do it too. The fact she has a hearing disability as well – she wants to show that being deaf doesn’t need to hold you back.”
