Staggering sum Becky Hill earned each month last year revealed as star’s career soars ahead of Brit Awards
SHE is hoping to make it a hat-trick after being nominated once again for the Best Dance Act gong at this Saturday’s Brit Awards.
But Becky Hill already has a good reason to celebrate on the dancefloor after raking in an absolute fortune.
The chart-topper’s relentless schedule of shows across the globe — including a lucrative residency in Ibiza — saw her earnings hit £313,000 every month.
A music insider said: “Becky is a decade into her career but her efforts are now paying off — quite literally.
“She’s had an incredible couple of years and it is reflected in her massive earning power.
“Through her huge tunes, she has made a name for herself as the queen of British dance music and her popularity is soaring.
“Becky has a jam-packed year ahead which is set to earn her an even bigger figure, yet again.”
She will head off on tour around Europe in April and will release her second album Believe Me Now? the following month.
Then the star has a host of festival performances booked for the summer months before she sets out on a massive UK arena tour in the autumn.
Becky, who has had No1s with Disconnect and Remember and performed on Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway at the weekend, saw her assets more than double during the period ending on May 31, 2023.
They soared to £3.8million from £1.6million the previous financial year, according to new documents filed for her firm, Eko Music Ltd, with Companies House last week.
Her new wealth means Becky, who scooped the Best Dance Act gongs in 2022 and 2023, out-earned the majority of the nominees at this weekend’s ceremony, including Raye — who leads the pack with seven nominations.
Becky will perform with Chase & Status at the Brits ceremony at London’s O2 Arena, which will be broadcast live on ITV from 8pm.
While she is too busy to spend her pots of cash this summer, Becky will be putting a decent chunk aside to pay for her upcoming wedding.
She got engaged to talent booker fiancé Charlie Gardner in 2022 and they have been taking their time in organising the big day.
Now the cash is rolling in, I expect Becky to go all out on the bash. I bloody would!
CRUZIN’ TO THE CHARTS
IT’S been two years since Cruz Beckham announced he would be making a move into music after signing a major management deal.
Unlike his brother Brooklyn, who seemed to rush into every hobby under the sun only to be left with egg on his face, Cruz has taken his time to hone his craft.
And I can now reveal the time has finally come for the youngest of the Beckham boys to shine, after his team spent a small fortune to create his sound, with a big chunk of the budget lavished on top songwriters.
Cruz has been working with writer Ed Drewett, who already has four No1 singles under his belt having written hits including Black Magic and Shout Out To My Ex for Little Mix, All Time Low and Glad You Came for The Wanted and Best Song Ever, Steal My Girl and History for One Direction.
Norwegian producer Fred Ball, who has worked with Rihanna, Beyonce and Mariah Carey and Joe Rubel, who has engineered records for Ed Sheeran, has also been working on Cruz’s project.
A music insider said: “There are high hopes for Cruz and his music is slowly but surely coming together.
“The plan is to launch this year to let people hear what he has been working so hard on for years.
“There is a lot of excitement around him as a singer but he is also acutely aware that he really needs to prove himself so he isn’t just accused of being a nepo baby, which is why he has spent so long perfecting the music.
“A fortune has been spent on getting him in rooms with some of the best brains in the business and the results are promising.”
Speaking in February 2022, Cruz said he was focused on “making the music I love,” with songs based on “personal experiences.”
He turned 19 last week, so if his teenage years were anything like mine, he should have plenty of things to sing about.
CHANCE TO STEPS BACK IN TIME
IF you want a hit of nostalgia this week, Steps are your best bet.
The group will bounce back into the charts on Friday after reissuing their first three albums on vinyl.
Their debut Step One from 1998, 1999’s Steptacular and 2000’s Buzz came out last week to huge demand from fans like me.
They said: “Over the years, we have had so many pleas to release our first three albums on vinyl and now is the time.
“These are really special and we can’t wait for you to see and listen to them.”
ZARA’S PINKY AND PERKY
IT wasn’t hard for Zara Larsson to put on a belting performance in this strappy outfit.
The Swedish singer wore the studded pink gear for her concert in Paris on Saturday, following the release of new album Venus.
She dropped the record earlier this month and is now playing shows around Europe after the UK leg of her tour ended last week.
But she is wasting no time in moving on to her next project and has already enlisted MNEK – who she worked with on 2015 hit Never Forget You – to make it with her.
She told Gay Times: “I’ve been begging on my knees for a year for him to do my next album, but he finally agreed.”
Given he was a big influence on Little Mix’s music, she is definitely on to a winner.
KRIS STILL A BIG FAN FAVOURITE
SINCE starring as hapless virgin Colin Frissell in Love Actually, Kris Marshall has gone on to land a number of big roles.
But despite the fact he’s a 50-year-old dad of two who now stars in hit BBC series Beyond Paradise, the actor said fans can’t let go of their love for dopey, love-lorn Colin.
Kris said: “The amount of people who come up to me and ask, ‘Can you say, ‘And he’s got a big kn*b’. . . it happens daily!
“I mean it’s quite embarrassing when I’m with my kids. I was like 31 then and now I’m rapidly becoming an old man.
“But it’s wonderful – such an iconic film to be part of and it’s a real honour.”
It won’t be long until he’s making a mint flogging those videos on Cameo, trust me.
TUESDAY: JENNIFER LOPEZ will spill all about her marriage to Ben Affleck, in her new documentary, awkwardly titled The Greatest Love Story Never Told. She won’t be able to refer to their romance like that once it hits Prime Video.
FRIDAY: The stars of young Hollywood will be back on screen as Dune: Part Two hits cinemas. The sci-fi epic features Zendaya, Timothee Chalamet, Florence Pugh, Austin Butler and Anya Taylor-Joy, so it isn’t short of A-listers.
FRIDAY: YEARS & YEARS frontman Olly Alexander will finally unveil his Eurovision song Dizzy ahead of the contest in Malmo, Sweden, in May. After listening, you can watch Olly talk about it with Graham Norton in a telly special on BBC1 at 10.40pm.
SATURDAY: The biggest night in British music will finally get under way with the Brit Awards at London’s O2 Arena. Kylie Minogue, Dua Lipa, Calvin Harris, Ellie Goulding and many more will perform at the bash, where chart queen RAYE is set to win big.
THERE’S NO REST FOR BUSY LIAM
THEIR self-titled debut album isn’t out until Friday but Liam Gallagher and John Squire have already started work on their next record.
The pair opened up about their plans when talking about gigs later this year, with Liam revealing: “The set will be short, but that’s how it is.
“It’s a new group.
“When we do another album, and then another, we will have more of a repertoire.
“I can’t wait to hear the next songs John writes.”
Speaking to Rock & Folk magazine, John added: “I want to do more. I already have some ideas.”
As well as performing with John, Liam is heading out on tour this year to mark the 30th anniversary of Oasis’s debut album Definitely Maybe. And he’s got no plans to slow down.
Liam said: “Making music isn’t a burden.
“Doing housework, mowing the lawn, taking the kids to school is a burden, but getting up and singing in front of people is wonderful.”
KIM GOES FROM RACY TO RACER
KIM KARDASHIAN’s style choices seem to have hit the skids.
The American reality star looked like she was gearing up for the Dakar Rally as she headed for a night out with friends in an oversized leather jacket and trousers.
