Cleaning whizz swears by 6p hack that makes mattress stains disappear in minutes and the secrets are in your cupboard

While many of us wil regularly wash our bedding, it appears that our mattresses are typically overlooked.
However, if you’ve noticed some grim marks appear on your mattress, you’ll be thrilled to know that a cleaning whizz has shared her simple trick to get rid of them in minutes.
Chantel Mila, a styling, organising and cleaning whizz, explained that thanks to her DIY solution, mattress marks will disappear in no time at all.
So whether your little one has had an accident, you’ve experienced a fake tan disaster, or your partner has been eating in bed despite you telling them not to, thanks to Chantel’s simple hack, even the toughest of stains will vanish in no time.
Posting on social media, Chantel shared her cleaning advice and penned: “The magic mattress stain remover you’ll wish you tried sooner.
“Depending on the stain, you can use 3% or 5% hydrogen peroxide or water in this mix!”
She then shared the step-by-step process of creating her own stain remover spray, as she explained: “Here’s how to remove those tough stains on your mattress.”
Although you can use hydrogen peroxide, if you’re on a budget, water will do just fine.
Chantel advised: “Mix half a cup of hydrogen peroxide or water with one tablespoon of dishwashing liquid.
“Spray this mix on the stain and then sprinkle it with baking soda [also known as bicarbonate of soda].
“Allow it to sit for about 15 minutes.”
Once 15 minutes had passed, the content creator recommended: “Then wipe this mix off and stains disappear.”
Following this, you can use your hoover to get rid of an excess.
If you fancy trying this trick at home and haven’t got any baking soda or washing-up liquid in your cupboard already, don’t worry, you will find these two items in many supermarkets and high-street stores.
You can nab baking soda for as little as 65p from Tesco, whilst washing-up liquid is just 55p from Asda.
For this hack, you need just a tablespoon of washing-up liquid, which works out at less than 1p per usage and a sprinkle of baking soda, which will cost you 5p – making this hack just 6p per usage.
Whilst the washing-up liquid will work to cut through the stains, the baking soda helps to ‘deodorise’ your mattress, ensuring it smells super fresh.
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @mama_mila_, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up over 6,600 likes.
Cleaning enthusiasts were thankful for the advice, as one user took to the comments and penned: “Great tip.”
But this isn’t the only trick to get rid of stubborn stains – recently we saw another cleanfluencer explain how she gets rid of marks on her mattress.
Corinne, who posts under ‘Slay At Home Mum’, explained that she mixes bicarbonate of soda, with ten drops of an essential oil together before sprinkling it over her mattresses.
Corinne leaves the powdery solution to sit for an hour before hoovering it up.
According to Corinne, the bicarbonate of soda “deodorises” your mattress, while the hoovering will suck up any rogue crumbs and dust.
