PLT ruined my anniversary meal – my dress split from top to bottom AND bottom to top, I had to cut dinner short
SHE felt amazing when she got dressed up for an anniversary meal with her boyfriend.
But Tori’s evening came to an abrupt halt when her Pretty Little Thing dress started to split – and ended up completely bursting open.
“Not to be dramatic but Pretty Little Thing – you literally ruined my anniversary meal,” Tori said in her TikTok video.
“This is the dress I ended up wearing – a leather bandeau, really gorgeous dress.
“May I add that I fake tanned, washed my hair, did a full body shave and literally spent two hours doing my hair and make-up
“I was feeling pretty good when I put this dress on.
“I was wearing my leopard print heels, my big coat and I was like, ‘Yeah, let’s go, I’m ready for this!'”
But just a short time into the evening, Tori’s £36 dress “proceeded to rip all up the bottom”.
“The slit came up to mid-calf when it was bought,” she said.
“By the end of the meal, I kid you not, the slit was just below my arse.”
While Tori blamed herself for buying a cheap dress, things proceeded to get even worse.
“We actually got the train to where we were going,” she said.
“After the meal, we were getting the train back.
“We were sat on this train for about half an hour – I’d already had this dress on for a couple of hours at this point.
“Tell me why, on the train, I haven’t moved, I breathe and the whole of the zip section pops open.”
Pointing to the hook at the top, Tori added: “Literally the only bit that was done up was up here and at the bottom.
“All of this in between space was completely ripped open.
“You can see the zip has literally just come away from the other side where all of the stitching had come undone.
“Obviously that was the end of the date night.”
Concluding her video, Tori advised anyone else buying the dress to “put some of your own stitches down the bottom”, and consider “sizing up”.
“I said to my boyfriend, ‘Have I just put on weight, should I have sized up?’ she said.
“And he was like, ‘No, Tor, you’ve had this on for hours, it’s just a not very well made dress’.
“So don’t make my mistake if your anniversary or something is coming up – buy a different dress!”
And people in the comments were quick to weigh in, with one writing: “I have a jumpsuit in this material from PLT ripped when I put it on!”
“I wore a jumpsuit to the airport and it had a zip in the front, the zip burst and I had to walk about with my jacket zipped up, and wear jeans and a corset on the plane back,” another added.
“I just sent it back!”
“I wore a zip-up corset from PLT out for drinks with my friends and the whole zip burst and I didn’t have a jacket so had to wear my friends fur coat,” a third commented.
“Omg thank God you were wearing a coat with it lol,” someone else said.
“Imagine wearing it for a night out in a club lmao!”
“I know!!” Tori repled.
“I wanted to wear it for a friend’s birthday next weekend…. will be wearing an ASOS one instead.”
