I transformed my boring newbuild kitchen for cheap using Shein & Amazon buys – I used to hate it, now it’s my fave room
RENOVATING your house can cost thousands – but one couple has shared how they transformed their kitchen with bargain buys.
The UK-based woman excitedly moved into a newbuild house – but wasn’t impressed with the boring interiors.
Of course, moving into a new home is already expensive, so the mum-of-one decided to decorate on a budget.
In the clip, she said: “Come transform our bland newbuild kitchen on a budget.”
The kitchen had all the amenities you would need – but the basic black and white cupboards and counter tops was lacking any character.
She first got started by adding wood effect vinyl to cover the black counter tops which she estimated cost her just £50 instead of replacing them all together.
The mum left the cupboards white for a clean look but replaced the plastic white handles with gold ones from Amazon for £15 for a modern feel.
Then it was time to start adding a personal touch with colourful wall art and some adorable plates and mugs to display.
As well as making the most of Amazon bargains, she also hunted down some new bits on Facebook Marketplace.
To fill up dead space on the wall, she bought two industrial style shelves for £40 second-hand and used them to display her new Valentine’s Day cups and fake plants.
But she wasn’t done there, she also added a stunning retro black and white checkered vinyl sheet to cover their boring laminate floor.
“The vinyl was so thin and we scratched it so badly with the puppy crate,” she explained as she showed her new flooring from vinyl Flooring UK which cost her £89.
Lastly, she added a new backsplash to her hob as she hated the boring silver one that had been put in.
She managed to find gorgeous stick on mint green ’tiles’ on Shein for just £13 to add a touch of colour.
“Incredible, ty (thank you) Shein,” she said.
They have them in pink too!! They’re wipeable and such good quality, do it.
Showing off the new kitchen which looked much more modern and personalised she said: “The end! From hating the kitchen to it being one of my fave rooms.”
“Turning our basic newbuild kitchen into a funky lil space. all while spending minimal amounts,” she captioned the post.
The clip has since gone viral on her TikTok account @enterno.42 with over 98k views and 6,000 likes.
People were stunned by the incredible transformation which was all done on a small budget.
One person wrote: “Straight to Shein for the backsplash.”
“They have them in pink too!! They’re wipeable and such good quality, do it,” she replied.
