You’re using your parchment paper wrong – a two-second trick makes baking so much easier and it’s blowing people’s minds
Have you ever tried to put parchment paper in a cake tin, only to realise it won’t stick to the mould?
It’s a common issue most of us have when we bake – and something many of us just suck up and struggle with.
However, one woman has revealed we’ve been using it wrong all this time and people can’t quite believe they didn’t know until now.
Taking to social media, Brianna Joyce shared the simple two-second life hack that would change your baking game forever.
“You’re not listening to the parchment paper,” she began as she held up a sheet.
“IT IS PARCHED,” she continued as she showed the issue all of us have when trying to get it to sit in a cake mould and it constantly lift up and move around.
She then took viewers over to the sink as she looked into the camera with a mixture of frustration and focus.
Now, it will do its job, because it’s not parched anymore

Brianna took the parchment paper and scrunched it into a ball before running some cold water over it.
“Quenchment paper,” she joked as she held up the now soaking wet sheet of baking paper.
“Now, it will do its job, because it’s not parched anymore,” she continued.
The foodie then placed the parchment paper into the cake mould again, and it seems her two-second hack did the trick as it quickly fitted into the mould without moving around.
The simple yet effective hack might be just the thing to make baking that little bit easier next time you try a cake recipe.
The clip posted to her TikTok account @bjoyce777 has since gone viral with over 8million views and 680k likes and has sparked a massive debate in the comments section.
While some were grateful for the tip – others were still sceptical as to how real it was
One person wrote: “Every damn day this app teaches me something.”
Another commented: “Is this real?? Tell me the truth rn.”
“It doesn’t sound right but I don’t know enough about parchment paper to dispute it,” penned a third.
Meanwhile a fourth said: “I couldn’t find anything on Google nor is it on the instructions so it will be staying dry in my house.”
“I will absolutely not be doing that I will simply cut it to size,” claimed a fifth.
Someone else added: “Whaaaaat I’ve been doing this wrong all this time?”
