My ‘hair dusting’ method is the key to long, healthy hair – trust me, my other tips cost $0
THE key to long, healthy hair is all down to a “hair dusting” method.
That’s according to one woman whose mane is her crowning glory.
Trust me on this, says Kamilla (@conniekamilla), whose long raven locks have been described as “the most beautiful hair on TikTok,” by one fan.
She dispenses tips for luscious hair on the platform and her 369,000 followers lap it up.
There’s no need to spend big bucks on her hair hacks because she said they cost $0.
She has even written a book on her hair knowledge, The Long Hair Handbook, a guide to long and healthy hair.
In this post, she showed viewers that they could also achieve a glorious mane.
“Hair tips that cost $0,” she said.
Top of her list was a method called “hair dusting.”
It is otherwise known as “surface cutting,” and targets split ends.
“It is the key to long, healthy hair, trust me,” she said, going on to explain the method.
“We have thousands of hair leaks and they could potentially have split ends,” she said.
Tips for luscious hair that cost $0
TikTok user Kamilla has waist-length hair that is glossy, shiny and healthy. It is her crowning glory. She has shared her tips for a beautiful mane that costs nothing.
Kamilla’s healthy hair tips:
- Hair dusting – snip away split ends
- Bring your hair forward when sitting against a surface
- Only condition your ends
- Squeeze out excess water before conditioning
- Detangle before washing
- Sleep in a protective hairstyle
- Reduce heat settings
- Use emulsified shampoo i.e. mix your shampoo with water
“That’s why when you cut at your hemline, sometimes you just don’t feel a big difference apart from a loss of length because split ends could be anywhere,” she added.
She used a dedicated pair of hair shears for this job.
“Take a look at which ones look damaged and you cut them off,” she said.
“Start at the back and work forward.”
Some viewers who were concerned dusting would thin hair out.
“It will not thin out the hair because you’re only cutting damaged ends,” she wrote.
One commenter said she had another hack that helps with hair dusting.
“Doing this while sitting in the sun is so much easier to see,” she said.
