Timothy Smith, 51, is looking for love on the matchmaking series and married Lucinda Light, 43, during an early episode of the Aussie show, which is airing in the UK on E4.

The star – dubbed “the tin man” – revealed the poignant reason behind his hardman nickname, this being the death of his mother and suicide of his brother 17 years ago.

He poignantly told how this was “the most defining” moment of his life yet sadly more heartache was to come.

This then was followed by the tragic passing of his dad just six weeks before his hunt for a wife – with their final dialogue seeing his father tell him: “I don’t like you.”

During his wedding ceremony with Lucinda, she quizzed her man on his family life.

Timothy candidly told her: “They’re all dead.”

He then added: “It’s still pretty raw.”

Later on, during a dinner chat with fellow groom Tristan, he opened his heart further.

Addressing Lucinda he said: “I’ve got nothing to b***h at, the issue is, she can dig up s**t from me that makes me question me.

“I’ve got emotions that I put in a box and hide them away.

“This whole thing questions who you are. Lucinda says I’m not open because I don’t trust anyone.

“All the scars on my heart are from people that I loved.

“No matter how many times you run over it in your head that you’re OK with it, you’re not. It is tough. It’s not easy for me to be an open person.

“Unfortunately I’ve got a bit of an open wound, so being vulnerable is tough, but I’m trying.”

Wedding woe

Tim had previously admitted he cannot match smitten Lucinda’s spiritual side.

Their wedding kicked off in absolute chaos when the groom – decked out in a smart black suit – accused producers of using a “sacrificial chicken.”

Their nuptials were in an idyllic setting by a huge lake.

Yet in her well thought-out vows, Lucinda told Tim: “I’m a servant of the spirit, love and light. I’m here to nurture and to dazzle.

“I knew that the universe was conspiring on this one, it just feels like divine intervention.”

Their wedding officiant then used the wing of a chicken with the feathers still attached to waft frankincense under his nose – which left the star understandably stunned.

The show then cut to Tim giving his reaction, and he reflected: “Nothing about this day has been normal. Not a thing.”

After a deluge forced everyone inside, Tim later said: “Erm, she’s a great looking girl, she has a great smile, I love her dress but I’m getting the sense she is an energy spiritual type of person which is very different.

“They were waving a chicken wing at me, and I felt very uncomfortable.

“And I’ve seen the back of the wing, and I’m thinking where did they get the wing from?

“Like was it a sacrificial chicken? I just couldn’t get into it, I was waiting for something to fall out of the sky and hit me.”
