Little-known Amazon online store where shoppers can get up to 50% off
AMAZON is one of the world’s biggest companies – and yet there’s one section of its site you’ve probably never heard of.
The online e-commerce giant is a one-stop shop for everything from tech to books, toys to baby supplies.
Amazon has a little-known portal where you can get discounts on damaged products[/caption]But the chances are you’ve not ended up in its “Warehouse” where it claims you can get discounts worth up to 50%.
The section of the retailer and marketplace’s website is dedicated to returned and mildly damaged goods at knock-down prices.
Savvy savers can choose from computers, cameras, shoes, bags and more and there’s usually just minor issues with the products.
At the time of writing, there was a used pair of Apple AirPods Pros for £173.86 instead of £229 new – a 25% discount.
You could also snap up a pair of men’s Skechers trainers for £31.26 instead of £37 new – 15% off.
On the pricier end of the scale, we found a Panasonic camera for £1,503.54 instead of £1,995.78 new – a 25% discount.
Plenty of thrifty folk have saved money using the platform as well.
Posting on X, formerly Twitter, one said: “I always check (the site) unless it’s a gift. Saved a lot on tools.”
Another commented: “Got headphones for my son and saved £35!!!! Damaged box, except you couldn’t tell.”
And a third added: “Bought a welding machine that was unused but dropped on a wheel which was bent.
“Straightened it out, works fine and saved £60.”
Any products bought through Amazon Warehouse come under the online retailer’s returns policy.
This means if you’re unhappy with your buy you can return it for a full refund within 30 days.
It’s worth noting, you will get a different level of discount depending how worn and torn the item is.
Amazon categorises products in four ways:
Used – Like new
An item in perfect working condition, the packaging may bear some damage.
The item fully functions, and all its essential accessories are complete.
Used – Very good
An item in very good condition that may have seen limited use and fully functions. The item may have minor cosmetic imperfections.
It may arrive with damaged packaging or be repackaged and could be missing some non-essential accessories.
Used – Good
An item in good condition that may show wear from moderate use and fully functions and may arrived with damaged packaging.
It may have minor cosmetic damage, such as a small scratch.
The item may be missing some valuable accessories and it may not be used until those accessories are purchased separately.
Used – Acceptable
An item may have clear signs of usage but still serves its main function, and may arrive with damaged packaging or be repackaged.
The item may have cosmetic damages on it or show other signs of previous use such as scratches or dents.
The item may also be missing some accessories, components or spare parts which you may need to buy separately.
What other retailers sell damaged products?
It’s not just Amazon which offers shoppers discounted prices on goods showing signs of minor wear and tear.
Footwear retailers Schuh and Office both have portals on their websites where you can pick up ex-display items on the cheap.
Office Offcuts offers shoppers sometimes whopping discounts – when we checked we spotted them up to 85%.
Meanwhile, we spotted up to 55% discounts on Schuh’s ex-display website, although you might find bigger ones.
