‘Psychotic behaviour’ say trolls after a woman shares her DIY kitchen makeover which they say should send her ‘to jail’
A DIY fanatic has been brutally mocked after painting her kitchen countertops white – and some even reckon the makeover is such a crime, she needs to be sent ”to jail”.
Crafty Breeya Shade took to Instagram to reveal the makeover after she was tired of having to constantly ”clean” her brown worktops in the kitchen.
According to the woman, who’s currently renovating her ”1970’s parsonage”, the granite was not only a nightmare to look after – but it was also ”hard to keep looking clean as well”.
Although in an ideal world, she’d rather replace them altogether, Breeya needed to come up with a less pricey alternative, as she’s still saving money.
Instead, Breeya, believed to be from the USA, decided to paint over the granite using a special ”marble countertop kit”.
However, convinced she’d fail to achieve the desired effect, the DIY lover stuck to a simply white background.
Sharing the makeover on her page, the woman said: ”My ultimate plan is to one day replace them completely but until we can save enough $$ this paint does the job!
”I used @rustoleum marble countertop kit but didn’t attempt to do marble veins because I know myself well enough to know that I wouldn’t like the faux marble look.”
According to Breeya, who said that the original granite look was the ”bane” of her ”existence”, she also wasn’t bothered about any criticism coming her way.
”I don’t care what the haters say. This paint works so good and seemed durable enough.”
But whilst the crafty woman may have been all chuffed with the transformation, trolls on social media were anything but impressed.
Hundreds raced to comments in sheer horror, as they shared their thoughts on the new countertops.
One reckoned: ”Painting granite is psychotic behaviour.”
Someone else agreed, adding: ”It’s difficult to lower house value these days but holy s**t, she did it 10fold.”
Another begged: ”You have a hidden talent. Please keep it hidden.”
”Painting granite?!?! Straight to jail,” a fourth couldn’t believe their eyes.
Luckily, it wasn’t all negative feedback, as there were also a few of those praising Breeya.
”Good job! All these people worrying about your kitchen when it’s YOUR kitchen. I think it looks great love!” a fan hit back at the meanies.
Another thought she’d made the right choice by painting the countertops, writing: ”Granite really is ugly as sin.”
Someone else was totally baffled: ”I don’t get how people can get so pressed over how someone else decorates and renovates THEIR home.”
