Huge Strictly star turned down big money offer from Celebrity Big Brother bosses – despite weeks of talks
ITV have put together a stellar line up for Celebrity Big Brother – but there is one person they didn’t manage to nab.
The Sun can reveal that Danny Cipriani was offered a large sum to participate in the reality show.
After entering into talks with CBB bosses, he eventually turned down the offer because of personal reasons.
A source close to the pro rugby player shared: “Danny was in talks and got a massive offer to do the show, but after his marriage split it wasn’t right for him – he’d already done Strictly Christmas special but thought going into the house would be too much pressure after the break up.”
The sportsman and his ex wife Victoria Rose got married in an “intimate” ceremony on April 27, 2021.
Danny posted on Instagram about their big day, writing: “Officially Mrs Cipriani @victoriarosecipriani – married my best friend today!!”
In November 2023, Danny announced that he and Victoria had split up, after just a few years of marriage.
They reportedly broke up from his partner after she saw “messages on his phone”.
A source told Mail Online that up until the summer, all had been well in the marriage.
But added: “Victoria had been increasingly unhappy over the last few months.
“Things got tense and then she saw some text messages on his phone and it led to some difficult rows between them and they have now split up.
“They are both devastated at the breakdown of their marriage.”
