Death in Paradise fans left ‘fully sobbing’ as beloved character leaves show in ‘gutting’ BBC scenes
DEATH in Paradise fans were left ‘fully sobbing’ as a beloved character left the show in ‘gutting’ scenes.
The latest instalment saw the team solve a complicated murder case.
But things quickly took an emotional turn when Death in Paradise said goodbye to Marlon Pryce (Tahj Miles).
Tahj portrayed the popular character on the BBC series from 2021 to 2024.
Fans were left ‘fully sobbing’ as they watched the loveable policeman leave the show.
Taking to X/Twitter, one wrote: “Fully sobbing that marlon has left :(.”
A second added: “Gutted Marlon leaving.”
A third penned: “Gutted Tahj D Miles has wrapped on Death In Paradise. Marlon Pryce was mint, perfectly portrayed. Cheers for the fun Tahj mate and all the best for the future.”
A fourth wrote: “Marlon leaving may tip me over the edge. Every time I get attached.”
A fifth added: “Can’t believe Tahj has left.”
The character’s exit was foreshadowed in the previous episode, when his sister Jocelyn got a letter about a scholarship in Jamaica.
This led Marlon to decide his next steps.
He said to his colleague Naomi Thomson (Shantol Jackson): “I want to do good by Jocelyn, but I don’t want to not be a police officer.”
Marlon decided to prioritize his sister’s future, even though it meant giving up his beloved job.
At the end of the episode, the team said goodbye to him and had a few surprises up their sleeves.
Fans got to witness the return of J.P. Hooper (Tobi Bakare), who had left the show at the end of series 10.
Marlon was excited to be reunited with his pal.
The policeman was over the moon when J.P told him he had spoken to the Jamaican Police and got him a job.
You can watch Death In Paradise on BBC One on Sunday nights at 9pm. All previous episodes are available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
