She said the amazing play barn structure inside was in sharp contrast to the battered Percy the Pig or Thomas the Tank Engine machines outside most service stations.
Dianne said that the play barn was virtually empty when she arrives so her children had the run of the place.
She said: “But here is the big problem when you find a
service station as good as this – the kids didn’t want to flipping leave.”
And she said the food and drink offing was a “dream combo of takeaway giants and food stores that I would actually want to buy stuff from on a motorway stop off.”
Dianne was impressed with the M&S Simply Food store with a fresh bakery section, and the Costa and a Pret.
She said fast food fans could visit the KFC and Burger King, and even the WH Smith and had a Krispy Kreme donut concession.
Dianne said the toilets were “all so clean and bright.” And she was impressed with the dramatic art work of rugby players, acknowledging the history of the area.
Rugby Services won the title of Best Motorway Service Station in the UK for the past two years.
In its latest poll, visitors to Rugby Services in Warwickshire gave a 100 per cent satisfied verdict.
Rich James Ross, 25, who toured all 95 of the country’s motorway service stations and more than 400 A-road services and truck stops, also singled out Rugby as the best.
Rich’s top-five service stations are Rugby Services, M6, Stafford South Services, M6, Fleet Services, M3, Strensham Services, M5, and Lancaster, M6,
Rich said that the Moto service station in Rugby was an example of what a service station needs.
He said it has something for everyone, including children’s playing facilities for all weather conditions.
Rich compared himself to a trainspotter, but with a hobby that’s more niche than other.
He added: “Unfortunately, a lot of people tend to give service stations a negative image online. I thought if I could visit these places and give them a positive and honest review, I’d be doing my bit for the industry.
“I have a normal day-to-day life and work as a delivery driver for Tesco – then I just zoom off on my journeys around the UK. It’s great.”
