EastEnders’ pregnant Whitney Dean left for dead as she hit by speeding car
HEAVILY pregnant Whitney Dean has been left for dead after being hit by a car in EastEnders.
The market trader – who is played by actress Shona McGarty in the BBC soap – is now fighting for her life after saving neglected youngster Britney from being run over.
In tonight’s special episode set entirely in Milton Keynes, Whitney and boyfriend Zack were seen visiting Bianca Jackson.
They ended up discovering that Bianca was feeding two neglected kids – Britney and her brother Taylor.
It soon emerged that they shared a drug addicted mother who had a dodgy partner.
And it left Whitney remembering her own childhood that led her into being groomed and abused – so she decided to help.
Zack tried to convince her against it but she thundered: “Who’s going to stand up for her then Zack? Someone’s got to.
“I know what it’s like to be a kid like that. She feels alone and she’s scared. She’s got nowhere to turn.
“She’ll end up trusting all the wrong people, I can’t stand there and watch that happen. Not another little girl like me, I’m not letting that happen.”
She stormed off to deal with Britney’s mother Keeley, despite being 28 weeks pregnant.
They had a furious row that saw Keeley threaten Whitney, Bianca hurl a brick through her window and Zack try desperately to keep Whitney safe.
But when Britney arrived home, Keeley went for her daughter, warning her that she would be punished for exposing her drug taking and neglect to the neighbours.
Britney fled from her mum’s threats and ran off, with Whitney giving chase.
She caught up to her and told that she would look after her, giving her a new life.
“I swear on my life that I’ll give you everything you need,” Whitney told her.
“You’ll have a home, you’ll have a normal life. I’m going to protect you, I promise.”
But Britney walked out into the road and stood in front of a car that sped towards her.
“You can’t, no-one can, I’m on my own,” she said as she waited for the car to hit her.
But Whitney ran at her and pushed her out the way, taking the full force of the car herself.
She was knocked to the ground and left for dead, as Zack rushed over terrified for her and the baby.
