‘Best food I’ve ever had’ gush food lovers as they descend on 24-hour bakery nicknamed ‘belly heaven’
FOOD fans have hailed a 24-hour bakery for having the best food they’ve ever tried – and Kevin Bridges is a fan too.
Clark’s Bakery, founded in Dundee, has been delighting foodies for over 70 years and even earned the nickname “belly heaven”.
The family-owned business now has nine shops, employs over 100 staff and opened their own butchers to supply meat for the pies and other savoury treats.
And the 24/7 flagship store was also once voted the best place to get “drunk food” in Scotland.
The menu includes £1.60 sausage rolls, pizzas from £7, and cakes including fondant fancies and empire biscuits.
Customers also say Clark’s has “every pie you could ever imagine” – with mouth-watering fillings including bolognese, chicken tikka, macaroni and bean and tattie.
But it’s their famous helicopter burger, priced at £6.80, that has the late-night customers queuing up.
It packs bacon, chips, Lorne sausage, beef patty and a fried egg into a giant floury bread roll.
Comedy royalty Kevin Bridges has previously revealed he’s a huge fan of the open-all-hours eatery, saying: “Clarkies 24-hour bakery – best food on the whole tour! Yaldy.”
And he’s not alone, as food lovers have rushed to compliment it.
One said: “A visit to Clark’s when in Dundee is utterly essential! You won’t regret visiting this 24 hour bakery! It is wild. They have the biggest selection of cakes and pies.”
A second wrote: “Clark’s Bakery omgggg. I would move to Dundee just for this bakery, absolutely delicious.”

A third wrote: “They are the best pies I’ve ever had in my life. Absolutely perfection.”
Meanwhile, a fifth said: “The food is incredible. It tastes delicious, the portions are huge and the price is more than fair. This place is a must visit when in Dundee.”
A sixth gushed: “Best bakery outlet in the world by a country mile.”
And someone else echoed: “The food is out of this world, pies are amazing and the prices are so cheap!
“Portions are pretty large and there is so much choice. Just wish there was one of these in Glasgow.”
