Gary Goldsmith under fire as Celebrity Big Brother’s Sharon Osbourne brands him fake after ‘emotional’ confession
CELEBRITY Big Brother’s Gary Goldsmith was branded “fake” by Sharon Osbourne.
The Princess of Wales’ uncle is set to be nominated for the first eviction in tonight’s episode.
But in tonight’s task, Gary opens up about being a “national villain”.
His emotional confession sparks gossip with the other housemates.
For the task, the housemates are transported to Big Brother’s Celestial Retreat where they get spiritual.
Fern Britton questions Gary, 59, on whether he “found peace within” during a heart-to-heart.
“I think peace is something always to be striving for. I thought I was having a really cool life until something hits you.
‘One day I was Gary, a businessman having a laugh with a great family. And then the next minute, I’m a national villain.
“So, I don’t really know what true peace is if I’m honest.”
“Well I think we all say, may the peace be with you,” Fern responded, with her hands in prayer.
Gary, who is the brother of Kate’s mum, Carole Middleton, was fined £5,000 and given a community order in November 2017 after pleading guilty to one count of assault by beating.
His wife also accused him of taking drugs and a taxi driver witnessed her being knocked to the ground outside their home in London.
He started to well up and exclaimed: “F*** me” as he was clapped by other housemates – but not everyone is convinced.
Over in a quiet huddle, Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu whispered to Sharon Osbourne: “I didn’t buy anything.”
“No nor me, he’s trying to be funny all the time and he’s not,” Louis Walsh added.
“And he lied when she said he doesn’t want to be a celebrity,” Sharon said.
“Everything’s a lie, you can see whose genuine, you can see whose hiding,” Ekin-Su agreed.
Gary, 59, is joined by The Real Housewives of Cheshire star Lauren Simon in the firing line.
This comes just days after an interview with Gary revealed that he thinks Prince Harry “threw Kate under the bus” over the racism claims against her.
In an exclusive chat with The Sun, he said of his niece: “She’s beautiful on the outside, but more beautiful on the inside and really is a doting mum . . . so the way the monarchy is moving, it’s family-centric.
“That’s why I got so upset with Harry and Meghan because you don’t put a stick into that spoke and reinvent history.
“I’ve got pretty miffed when they had a pop at my beautiful niece who couldn’t say anything for herself.
“I think everyone felt the same about how much did we love Harry and then throwing your family under the bus just seemed inappropriate, especially what was happening with the Queen. I just thought it was totally unnecessary.”
Gary, 58, said he was incensed at racism claims against Kate.
In the Dutch translation of his book Endgame, writer Omid Scobie alleged that King Charles and the Princess of Wales had asked Meghan and Harry what colour son Archie’s skin might be.
Gary added: “It’s absolute bull***t and I didn’t hide my feelings very well when I was offered the opportunity to say something, I just thought I’d say it as I saw it. I did think I caught the tone of nation.
“Kate is 100 per cent not racist, neither is Carole. My family is not racist and for Kate to be portrayed as that is just so far removed from the truth, it’s ridiculous.”
