BARBIE star Ryan Gosling is set to be the real winner of awards season — after being inundated with offers to launch a music career.

Despite being a box office smash Barbie was set to lose out to Oppenheimer at last night’s Academy Awards — where it was up for eight prizes.

But Ryan, 43, who starred in the movie alongside Margot Robbie, has impressed music bigwigs so much there are now hopes he will pursue a future in singing.

The management team behind the Canadian actor are understood to have been approached by a major record label which expressed an interest in working with him.

He was due to showcase his vocal abilities by performing his track I’m Just Ken from the movie at last night’s ceremony.

It is up for Best Original Song and he is also nominated for Best Supporting Actor.

Ryan also sang in the 2016 Oscar-winning La La Land.

But it is his latest effort which gave him his first UK chart hit when it reached No13 last August.

Top music publicist Kat Bawden of DediKATed PR, believes he has what it takes.

She said: “Ryan is the real deal. He has the voice, the looks and is really popular.

“Because of the success of Barbie and the soundtrack, it’s feels like a no brainer that he should be offered a major label deal.”

Mark Ronson, who produced the Barbie soundtrack, has said that he hopes to work with Ryan on music.

He revealed in January: “He’s got amazing taste and great ideas, and he’s an extremely funny and talented musician and singer.

“I would love to make more music. You know, I think it would be great.

“And we’ve talked about it a little bit.”

Barbie made £1.1billion at the box office in comparison to £750million for Oppenheimer.

However, the atomic bomb biopic has dominated awards season and last month got seven Baftas, while Barbie received none.

It went into the Oscars with 13 nominations, ahead of Poor Things with 11 and Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon with ten.

Margot, 33, broke from Barbie tradition by not wearing pink at the Chanel and Charles Finch pre-Oscars dinner on Saturday.

But the Aussie, who wore a black dress instead, said: “It looks good on everyone.”

Dune: Part Two star Zendaya, who is due to present an award tonight, and singer Katy Perry were among other stars also spotted attending pre-event bashes.

FOUR out of the five Best Actor nominees – Cillian Murphy, Bradley Cooper, Paul Giamatti and Jeffrey Wright – were privately educated.

Only Rustin’s Colman Domingo was not.

It’s likely to provoke anger from those who say the film industry isn’t accessible for the less privileged.

“She is living life to the fullest and wants to celebrate her incredible few months since bouncing back.”

BRIT make-up artist Mark Coulier had to get up at 2.30am each day to turn Willem Dafoe into the disfigured scientist he plays in Poor Things.

Lancashire lad Mark Coulier, a two-time Oscar-winner, said Dafoe would arrive at 3.45am — and not be on set until five hours later.

But the Olympic champ and husband Dustin Lance-Black, 49, snubbed the event — just a month after revealing they had moved to LA full time.

One party-goer said: “It was disrespectful.

“If he wants to make friends in LA, he’s not going about it the right way

OSCARS host Jimmy Kimmel said he and a pal got kicked out of the Oscars in the Nineties.

He said: “We got there at 9 o’clock in the morning in tuxedos.

“We thought if we hung around for long enough, it would seem like we belonged. But before the guests arrived, they kicked us out.”

Simon’s story follows a middle aged doctor charged with looking after a 15-year-old patient.

In The Holdovers, a boarding school classics teacher – played by Paul Giamatti, left – has to supervise a 15-year-old during the summer holidays.

Simon alleges he can prove that the “meaningful entirety” of The Holdovers has been lifted from his work.

He said: “Some of it is just insanely brazen: many of the most important scenes are effectively unaltered and even remain visibly identical in layout on the page.”
