I promise natural light is a game-changer, but a simple tweak to your TV can make your living room look more expensive
HOME-BUILDING pros are sharing their tricks of the trade for making living rooms look expensive.
The hacks are set to stand the test of time as interior design trends change.
Australia-based new home builders Redink (@redinkhomes) have garnered over 221,000 followers on TikTok, where they share home inspiration.
They went viral on the social media app after sharing three tips for transforming living rooms.
The experts in designing dream homes showed a beautifully decorated living room with plenty of space despite having a sofa, chairs, and coffee table.
“How to make your living room look expensive,” read the text over the screen.
“One, mount the TV on the wall and hide the wires.
“Two, let as much light in as possible.
“Three, don’t use matching furniture sets. Change things up.”
They showed a flat-screen TV attached to a white wall with a black table underneath decorated with vases.
No visible wires showed where the TV was plugged in for a sleek look.
The almost wall-to-ceiling windows on one side naturally lit the space.
A gray sofa was the statement piece as it had cushions of different colors and a throw artistically placed.
Meanwhile, two strategically positioned linen armchairs with wooden arms and legs added to the casual feel of the space.
Over 6,7000 viewers liked the video and many people were curious here the eye-catching decor was bought.
“Love the coffee tables,” one person wrote.
“Where is the console table under the TV from?” another commented.
The TikTokers didn’t respond to the requests and left some people guessing how else they could recreate the look shown.
The console table is strikingly similar to the Burke Iron Console sold by Pottery Barn, while brown wood coffee tables can be found at Walmart.
“How do you hide the wires lol,” a viewer asked.
“You feed the TV cable from the back of the TV down inside the wall into a power source where it’s hidden,” another replied.
