‘It is so rude to block somebody’s driveway,’ fumes neighbor who went on Amazon to buy solution to ongoing problem
A MISPLACED car, allegedly parked obstructing a driveway, has sparked yet another instance of the ongoing urban parking woes.
In a TikTok, a driver explained how she got back at rude drivers with an Amazon find.
A TikToker said she found an Amazon product to help stave off rude drivers[/caption]“It is so rude to block somebody’s driveway,” a new homeowner, Ally (@alwayzallyy) said in a post.
“Don’t ever block somebody’s driveway!”
However, the TikToker said she had a solution to dissuade future drivers from brazen parking jobs.
She said she purchased a sign that warned “will tow” from the e-commerce giant.
“So, try my not,” she concludes.
Commenters supported the driver’s Amazon warning.
“Don’t be cutting her off,” one person said in response to the video.
The U.S. Sun reached out to the TikToker to include comment in this story.
PARKING PROBLEMS
Dozens of other drivers have posted social media clips after alleging their driveways were also blocked by other drivers.
“I live a few blocks from a beach and right around the corner of a busy street,” a Redditor wrote, complaining about a trove of drivers constantly impeding their driveway.
“For selfish reasons, some people feel it’s okay to block my driveway and then walk away to do their errands.”
The Redditor said their Brooklyn, New York, neighbors kept running into the same issues.
They painted the curb, posted signs, and placed traffic cones – all to no avail.
PARKING PROBLEM TIPS
Here is a checklist for drivers thinking of confronting their parking issues:
- Assess the safety risk: Before taking any action, assess the situation to determine the severity of the issue. Is the car obstructing traffic flow, blocking driveways, or posing a safety hazard?
- Check local regulations: Read the local parking regulations, especially in an HOA or apartment complex. This will help with finding available actions.
- Approach with compassion: If it’s safe to do so, try speaking with the owner of the vehicle. They may not be aware that they’re parked illegally or causing inconvenience.
- Snap a pic: Take photos or videos of the illegally parked car, especially if it’s causing a significant disruption.
Another TikToker claimed a California resident developed “Tesla Syndrome” and blocked her driveway.
“Tesla Syndrome” characterizes a prevailing inclination towards flashy visuals at the expense of practical utility, The Daily Beast explains.
However, the TikToker took the phrase more literally. A Tesla was at the foot of her driveway, rendering her driveway inoperable.
The TikToker said her critique made her feel “entered old lady world.”
But she hired a tow truck to remove the EV.
