Late Dragon Ball creator’s last game is now free for everyone to play
THE world was shaken by the passing of Dragon Ball’s creator Akira Toriyama, and an outpouring of condolences swept the internet.
Known for his distinctive art style, not only did Toriyama create the Dragon Ball franchise, but was also involved in several popular video games, such as Dragon Quest and Chrono Trigger.
Sand Land features Toriyama’s distinctive art style[/caption]At the time of his passing Toriyama was working on the upcoming game Sand Land, which is based on his manga series.
Supervising the game and creating new designs, it is one of the last projects he was working on before his death.
Sand Land will launch on April 26, 2024, for PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam. However, fans can play it right now, over a month before its official release.
The blurb for Sand Land reads: “Dive into a desert world where both humans and demons suffer from an extreme water shortage – Sand Land.
“Meet the Fiend Prince Beelzebub, his chaperone Thief, and the fearless Sheriff Rao, and follow the team on an extraordinary adventure in search of the Legendary Spring hidden in the desert.
“The end is only the beginning, as beyond this arid ground lies a new realm to explore.”
It doesn’t matter which console you want to play on, the demo for Sand Land is available on all launch platforms.
If you want to try Sand Land out for yourself, you can do so by navigating to the game’s store page directly via your PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, or Steam.
You can then download the demo straight to your system and play numerous sequences from throughout the game.
This data will not carry over into the full game as you will play small sequences from different parts.
